Ensure your bird has plenty of ventilation yet can hide out when she wants. Seagrass hut features two perches for your bird to stand on (or for more than one bird) as well as plastic pieces and leather to chew. Wicker construction is also chewable and "wagon" hangs from a plastic chain to provide the swinging sensations birds crave. Because bottom of wagon is open, there's less mess. Perches are 1/2" diameter x 4-1/2" long. Wagon is about 5.5" tall. Recommended for parakeets, lovebirds, cockatiels, and similar-sized birds. Hanging hardware included.
Note: Because this item is handmade, sizes are approximate.

Why do birds shred?
Shredding is natural stress relief for birds. In the wild they tear, chew, and shred to find food (forage) and to gather resources for nesting. In addition, increased hormones during breeding season can cause them to shred even more than they normally do. And let's face it - shredding is fun!
The sound, the sight, the feel, all add enjoyment to your bird's day and help keep him busy. As we know, a busy bird has less stress and is at his happiest and healthiest.
