Easily give your dog fresh, clean, debris-free water anytime he's in his cage, kennel, or fenced-in area. Lixit Dog Water Bottles contain your dog's water in BPA-free bottles that attach easily to wire structures.
The 44 oz No-Drip Bottle, with its patented no-drip valve with ball tip, also features a flip-top lid for fast, easy refills. It's perfect for travel use - especially on airplanes - since its 2 flat sides let you mount the bottle inside or outside of your dog's crate. Plus, you can place its hanger clamp in two positions on the bottle to set a bottle height that suits your dog's height. Vertical grooves in the mounting plates help ensure a tight grip. Measures 11.5" high x 4" dia; 4.25" tube.
The 64 oz Wide Mouth Bottle holds a half gallon of water in a square opaque bottle with a premium stainless steel tube with double ball. While ideal for large-breed dogs who drink lots of water, the Wide Mouth Bottle is great for use with any dog. The Wide Mouth Bottle fills and cleans easily, and mounts easily to the outside of most cages, kennels, or chain-link fence. Measures 5.5" x 3.5" x 9.5" high; 3.5" tube.

Always test your bottle, and make sure your pet is comfortable drinking from the bottle, before leaving your pet alone. Check and change your pet's water daily.
Washing Instructions: To wash, remove bottle from cage. Remove lid and use a mild dish soap to gently clean the inside. You may find that a bottle brush (item #818426) is helpful. Please be sure to rinse bottle completely before refilling and returning the bottle to your pet's cage.
44 oz No-Drip Bottle
- Sandwich cage wires between clamps on bottle hanger.
- Tighten wing nut to secure bottle hanger to cage.
- Attach bottle to clamp, then fill through flip-top lid.
- Test bottle tube to make sure water flows.
64 oz Wide Mouth Bottle
- Always fill bottle completely full.
- Continuous dripping can occur if cap is not tightened securely.
- Check that the gasket is in place in the cap.
- Always use the bottle support hanger.
- Install out of direct sunlight.
- Permanent hanger installation is recommended. Use pliers to crimp bail loops over cage wire.
- If you add ice cubes to your pet's water on hot days, water will drip more than normal. This is due to the difference between the inside water temperature and the outside air temperature.
- Fill bottle to top.
- Screw cap on tightly.
- Test bottle by pressing control ball at end of drinking tip.
Occasional dripping is normal.
How it works
These bottles have ball-point tubes, which work on vacuum lock, not valve seal. The control ball serves as a piston and releases water out of the tube when nudged inwardly. When the bottle is filled and first inverted, you must press the control ball, and let the water trickle out until the vacuum-lock develops inside the bottle, before placing it on the cage. Be sure rubber stopper is securely pressed into the bottle neck. A few drops of water may drip until the water warms to the surrounding air temperature. This is normal.
Installation and operation
Installation tips: For easier installation, install wires using an empty bottle. This will help with proper fit. After you have decided on the proper location, pinch wires closed using pliers so wires will not get knocked off. Mount bottle on the outside of the cage only. Just the tube should extend into the cage.
Your Lixit Dog Water Bottle comes with a 2-piece wire bottle holder for installation on carrier cages, holding pens, display cages, and chain-link fencing. When properly installed, the support hanger and bail wire lock the bottle securely in position. The "quick release" locking bail fits into a special notch molded on the backside of the bottle. To release the bail, press inward on the molded notch below the bail finger lift. The Bottle Support Hanger carries the full weight of the bottle and must be used for installation; this avoids stress on the cap seal and minimizes the risk of leakage from loss of vacuum. The locking bail must be adjusted just enough to keep the bail locked in position without deforming the bottle or exerting leverage on the cap/bottle seal. This gently latching force can be achieved in 2 easy ways: 1) by bending the 45-degree bottle support hanger upward or downward (which raises or lowers the bottle), or 2) by bending the front of the bail inward or outward.
If wires are less than 5/8" apart, you may need to widen bars to install the bottle support hanger and provide proper 45-degree tube entry. Turn the hanger kegs sideways and insert through the wires and hook the loop ends over a higher horizontal care wire. Attach the bail wire to the same horizontal cage wire.
With holding pens and display caging
Use any convenient horizontal cross wire to attach the bottle support hanger and locking wire bail. On holding pens, you may have to spread the hanger legs 2"-3" apart to lock the 45-degree bottle support securely between the vertical cage wires. Also for small dogs, you may have to install a separate horizontal support rod (such as 11"-12" length of 3/15" or ¼" metal rod) for mounting the bottle at an appropriate height (purchase an extra support rod at your local hardware store). Use nylon ties or wire twists to securely attach this extra support rod.
With chain-link fence
You will have to insert a short 11"-12" steel or aluminum rod horizontally between the chain links to install the bottle holder (purchase an extra support rod at your local hardware store). Attach the rod securely with nylon ties or wire twists. This separate support rod serves as a horizontal cross wire for mounting the bottle support hanger and locking wire bail. Be sure the hanger legs are inserted between the chain links.
