We recommend that if the wound pad has blood and/or pus on it, remove it (cut it out) and replace it. If it was used simply to cover stitches and is not foul (use your discretion), then you can wash the whole bandage and reuse. A great tip for sterilizing the bandage, after you wash by hand with mild detergent dip in 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar solution, and then rinse. This will sterilize the bandage. If you do not rinse the vinegar out, it will have a bitter taste and strong smell to deter the dog from licking (all natural, no ill effect lick deterrent). Regardless of the steps, always allow the bandage to dry before reusing. It dries quickly especially if the wound pad is cut out.
