pH indicator was red out of the blister pack, and hasn't changed color since putting in tank. The pH has been checked by pH meter and by API test kit and the ph in the tank varies from 6.2-6.5. The pH internal alert monitor says it is above 8.0. Possibly could be a shelf life problem.

The "sensor" was dark red right out of the package (pH 8.2), and never changed at all in 24 hours. My tank is always at 6.8 - 7.0 verified by 2 test reagent test kits. Waste of money and shipping cost.

My only problem with this is it might be off and not just this, but the last one I had, shows 7.0 ph. but my API master test kit and the API KH & GH test kit shows that the levels are 7.6 and right on the money every time, aside from the slight fluctuation from 7.4 - 7.6. every time just depends on what time of day, believe that is related to Co2 and the photosynthesis process with the plants. But BOTH of the Seachem alet monitor is off by .6 ph on 2 of them. Think ill try the competitors ph monitor next time. Ive also had a 2nd opinion from a local tank shop, said his meters showed 7.6 as well.
