Effectively teach your dog to stay away from restricted areas with the PetSafe® Pawz Away® Mini Pet Barrier. The cordless barrier system allows you to train your pet to respect your set boundaries and avoid areas included kitchen counters, trash cans, furniture, rooms and outdoor areas. Choose the Standard Pet Barrier System if you have dogs only and wish to set up a larger barrier (up to 12 ft in diameter). Restrict dogs or cats from rooms/locations with a barrier 5 ft in diameter.
Place the Pawz Away Mini Pet Barrier System's transmitter disc in any location you want your pet to avoid, then place the adjustable nylon receiver collar on your pet. When your pet gets too close to the transmitter disc in the off-limits location(s), the receiver collar triggers an audible tone (series of beeps) with progressive static correction. The mild correction, similar to static electricity, is designed to startle, rather than punish, your pet into avoiding the area. You can choose correction levels for any pet sensitivity. Your pet will learn that approaching the off-limits area(s) results in a correction that can be avoided simply by steering clear of the area(s) you've protected.
The Pawz Away Mini Pet Barrier system lets you create avoidance areas up to 5 ft in diameter. It teaches your pets to avoid areas inside the home and outside in the yard. The system arrives with: a 2-7/8" dia plastic barrier transmitter disc for use indoors or out (requires 3 AAA batteries, not included), a 3/4"-wide adjustable nylon receiver collar (fits dogs 5 lbs and up with necks 6"-28"), a 3/4"-wide cat collar strap (fits cats 5 lbs and up with necks up to 12"), a test light tool, two 3V lithium collar batteries (item 13120), and an operating/training guide.
Help your dog avoid problem areas with expert ease! Put a Transmitter Disc near the middle of your desired pet-free zone. When your dog moves towards the outer range of the pet free zone, the collar emits a high-pitched tone, followed by an escalating level of electrical stimulation delivered via the collar probes. Note: The tone is easily heard by dogs, but may be a pitch that is difficult for humans to hear.
Your dog's collar will work with multiple transmitter disc units (sold separately), so you can protect more than one problem area in your home. The Mini Pet Barrier System will also work outdoors. [Back to top]
Read the complete manual and follow all directions. Never attempt to use it for any purpose not described in the enclosed product manual.
Move your pet to an area away from the pet-free zone before turning the collar on.
Allow your pet to enter the zone on his own.
Monitor your pet during his first session. Pets learn at different speeds. It may take several times for your pet to honor the pet-free zone. You may also need to adjust the range so that your pet receives the warning sooner.
If you find that your pet is confused or unsure how to avoid the correction, it may be useful to put a long leash on your pet and show him how to avoid the transmitter disc by gently guiding him out of the range once he has entered.
Be sure to praise your pet for leaving the pet-free zone.
Multiple Dog Households
All Transmitter Discs and collars come preset in mode A. In multiple dog households, it may be desired to allow one dog access to an area while denying access to another.
Each collar receiver can operate on one of two different modes - A or B. Collars set to the A mode will activate from Zones set on A only or A/B mode. Collars set to the B mode will activate from Zones set on B only or A/B mode.
Each Transmitter Disc may also be set to either mode A or B, or to both modes A and B to allow multiple configurations. Transmitter Discs set to A/B mode will engage collars set on both the A only or B only modes.
Perform set-up procedures before you place the collar on your pet.
To keep warranty in effect, an authorized agent must service the computerized circuitry in this unit. Do not attempt to dismantle or repair this system on your own.
Each pet reacts differently to training. Use a long lead in initial training sessions so as to maintain complete control of your pet at all times.
If your pet is aggressive, snarls, bites, or gives other indication of harming himself or others, terminate the training session and consult a professional trainer or animal behaviorist, someone with knowledge in managing hard-to-control pets.
Since some pets do not respond to a training collar, and even trained pets occasionally miss commands, Invisible Technologies, its distributors, and dealers cannot guarantee that the system will, in all cases, bring about desired results and complete obedience.
