Keeps squirrels, starling, grackles and raccoons from eating your suet
Heavy-duty steel construction weathers the elements beautifully
Holds two cakes and inner cage has ample room for multiple birds
Do pesky squirrels and grackles gobble down your suet before songbirds can get to it? Not anymore! Squirrel Resistant Suet Palace offers a fortress of protection a full 3" from the inner suet cage. The metal roof protects suet from the elements (and marauding squirrels and raccoons) while providing shelter for feeding birds. The outer cage features a flexible, unique design that accommodates larger woodpeckers. However, not even the longest-armed squirrels can reach into the suet cage, thanks to a metal plate below the suet. A spring-loaded, locking lid keeps squirrels from opening the roof. Heavy-duty steel feeder is covered completely with vinyl coating - no exposed, unprotected wire ends as is sometimes the case with cage feeders. Powder-coated metal hanging chain included. Inner cage holds 2 suet cakes. 11" x 9.5" x 6" high.
When do I Feed Suet?
Suet provides high-energy nutrition for your birds and can be offered throughout the year when birds are most colorful and active. Because of the high fat content, suet keeps birds warm during cold temperatures. Suet is also a great addition to the bird diet for high activity periods during spring and summer.
Migratory birds have completed their long journey and immediately begin high energy expending activities like defending territories, mating, building nests and raising young. Providing your birds this high-energy food helps ensure they have a successful nesting season.
