Whats the best thing to get a Guinea Pig to stop chewing?

My Guinea pig star Chews and Chews on her cage which is metal, its a very annoying noise and we have tried squirting her gently with a water bottle, we feed her and once shes done she starts chewing again!!

Though this question is over a year old, I'll add that something in the cage, like a chewable tunnel or a cardboard tube or box seems to help. I have single male that does the same thing. Though I think he does it for attention, I know he's probably bored as well. He chews right through the twig tunnels in a week or so but during that time he chews less on his bars. Toilet paper or paper towel rolls work good. Only good for a few days but it's not costing you anything.

Hi, I currently have four male guinea pigs as well as a lot of experience with them as a kid. Your problem, like so many behavioral problems with cavies can most likely be solved by getting a friend for your pig. Guinea pigs are very social; one of the reasons they have been used in laboratory experiments is because they have complex social structures, like humans. Imagine if you were in solitary confinement where your only social contact was with some giant alien caring for you who didn't speak your language. You'd probably go a little crazy too. I recently rescued a 4 year old male who had been alone for 2 yrs and it took him a little while to adjust to his new cage mate but he is so much happier now. It breaks my heart when I see solitary guinea pigs.
