or a simpler way to tell is for every inch of shell ( from head to tail ) 10 gallons of water for every inch so a slider full grown at 12 inches thats 120 gallons of water and for every turtle you add add another 10 gallons per turtle and depending on what kind of slider you have they may be smaller than or the same size as a red ear slider or short RES

Thank you for your question. One average adult turtle would require a tank that is at least 55 gallons. For two adult turtles we would recommend a tank that is at least 110 gallons.

acrylic tanks for a Bearded Dragon?

I have a friend who is making me a new tank out of acrylic for a Bearded Dragon (42x22x20) he asures me that it will withstand high temps as long as the lights are not directly on the acrylic. I went to a pet shop and the owner told me my Dragon would die from the fumes and I should buy one of his glass tanks 36x18x18. What should I do? I have already paid for the acrylic tank.

Thank you for your question. Bearded Dragons can safely be housed in acrylic or in glass aquariums. The only risk with acrylic is that it can be scratched more easily.

Bearded Dragons, best inexpensive cage for them?

Hi, I'm looking into purchasing a Bearded Dragon for the first time. I have had a Green Anole, and had a 10 gallon tank for him. I know that a cage that size will not be big enough for a bearded dragon, but I'm wondering (in gallon tank sizes) which one would be the best for a Bearded Dragon. I keep seeing measurements on websites, but those are of no use to me. I need simple terms. Also, since it would be my first time owning one, I do not want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a cage for one. I'm wondering which cage would be the best for a first time owner, but will not cost me a lot. I really don't want to spend more than $70 if possible. I know that might not be possible, but that's my goal.

I'm also looking into purchasing a beardie. I am currently looking at an online custom glass cage shop that sells a 45 gallon aquarium but is the same length (48") and width (12.5") as the 55 gallon. Only difference is height, the 55 gal is 21" high and the 45 is only 17". I can't imagine a Beardie couldn't be happy with 17" of heigth which is a bit taller than my 20 gallon tank (12" high) that I currently have my Steppe Runner in. Google something like glass cages and I'm sure you will find it. Oh, the tank is on $91 but screen top is separate at $25. Anyway, this seems a lot more compact but adequate and cheaper than the answer you received above. Hope this helps.
