Great Little Device
This is a very easy to use and extremely accurate thermometer. It reads quickly (almost instantly), and sensitive enough to determine tenth--of-a-degree differences.
The probe can go right in the water, but the part with the display is NOT waterproof. However, I've now dropped it in the tank twice, and each time thought it was ruined (displayed bizarre, constantly changing, numbers on the screen). But taking out the battery, giving it a good shake, and letting it sit overnight in a zip-loc bag of uncooked rice has brought it right back to normal each time. So if you do drop it in (you probably will, at some point), at least there's an easy fix!

Highly Accurate / Simple to use
The description doesn't do justice for this product. It is another quality product from Hanna Instruments. According to the literature, there are 4 versions. The highest version is the F/N (Fahrenheit w/ Calibration Certificate.. This is what I received.
Thank you Drs. F&S for carrying such a product.
I checked the accuracy with a high precision manual thermometer. What good would it be if it wasn't accurate? As I expected, it checked out dead-on.
Highly recommended.

The product is easy to use and the battery lasts a longtime
This is my second unit. I dropped the first unit in a tank and it didn't survive getting wet. It is easy to use and is accurate. Be nice if it had a lanyard or better yet was water proof.
