Anti-linger prevention and progressive "run- through" prevention protect your dog

Covers up to 10 acres (with additional wire & flags sold separately)
Give your dog freedom to roam your backyard without roaming off. This in-ground dog fence system is one of the most affordable, convenient ways to keep your dog safe and secure in his own yard. System features a lightweight receiver collar with 4 adjustable levels of correction plus tone-only mode. This system also has run through prevention, which means your dog cannot escape your established "pet area" without receiving an increased level of static correction. This system, unlike the previous PetSafe in-ground fence, also has anti-linger prevention, which keeps your dog from staying in the warning zone for long periods of time and draining the receiver collar battery. A low battery indicator ensures your peace of mind. Included 500 ft of wire and 50 training flags allow a pet boundary area of about 1/3 acre. Additional Wire and Flags, sold separately, let you expand the system to cover up to 10 acres. For pets over 8 lbs. Replacement battery sold separately (item 9543).
System includes: Transmitter with Power Adaptor, Deluxe UltraLight Receiver with adjustable collar strap from 6-28 inches, Operating and Training Guide, Petsafe 6V Battery, 500 feet of wire and 50 Training flags, Test Light Tool.
Extra Little Dog Collar - 2 oz collar adjusts from 6" - 16". For dogs up to 55 lbs. NEW Rechargeable Collar can be used as a replacement collar for the in-ground fence or for adding a second dog to your current system. Includes rechargeable batteries and charger. Fits necks 6"-28" and dogs over 5 lbs.

How It Works
A radio signal travels through a buried wire, marking boundaries you wish to set for your dog. Your dog wears a receiver collar that detects the signal at the boundary. As your dog approaches the boundary, the receiver issues a warning tone. If he proceeds further, he receives a safe but startling Static Correction. While harmless, the correction will persuade him to stay in the containment area you've established. Boundary flags are a temporary visual aid for your pet; remove them after training.
Fence Transmitter: Transmits the radio signal through the Boundary Wire. Pet Area: Area within the Warning Zone where your pet can roam freely. Warning Zone: Outer edge of the Pet Area where your pet's Receiver Collar begins to beep, warning him not to go into the Static Correction Zone. Static Correction Zone: Zone beyond the Warning Zone where your pet's Receiver Collar will emit a Static Correction, signaling him to return to the Pet Area. Boundary Width: Combination of the Warning Zone and the Static Correction Zone. Correction Level Button: Adjusts the level of Static Correction your pet receives in the Static Correction Zone. Receiver Indicator Light: Indicates the level of correction at which the receiver collar is set. This light also serves as the low battery light. Contact Points: Delivers the safe Static Correction when your pet moves into the Static Correction Zone. Power Jack: Where the Power Adapter plugs into the Fence Transmitter. Boundary Control Switch: Switch located on the Fence Transmitter to adjust according to the length of Boundary Wire used. Boundary Wire Terminals: Where the Boundary Wires connect to the Fence Transmitter in order to complete a continuous loop. Loop Indicator Light: Indicates that the Boundary Wire makes a complete loop, enabling the signal to be transmitted. Boundary Width Control: Adjusts the width of the Warning and Static Correction Zones. Note: Adjusting the knob does not change the level of Static Correction on the Receiver Collar.
How much wire do I need?
PetSafe Containment Systems come standard with 500 feet of boundary wire. For larger yards, we recommend purchasing additional wire kits, which include everything you need to expand the coverage. Kit includes 500 feet of 20-gauge wire and 50 marker flags.

Installation
If trenching into concrete, you will need cutting tools and repair materials.
Basic Installation Steps
The basic installation Steps are outlined below. Detailed instructions for installing and configuring your containment system are provided in the owner's manual.
Mount the transmitter on an internal or enclosed wall.
Twist the wire together for areas where you want the dog to be able to cross. (For example, from the transmitter out to the boundary.) Twisting the wire cancels the signal, allowing the dog to cross the area without receiving a correction.
Place the boundary wire in a continuous loop around the perimeter of the boundary area.
Connect the twisted wire to the transmitter.
Connect the loop to the twisted wire running to the transmitter.
Test the system to make sure it works properly.
Bury the wire.
Adjust the signal field on the transmitter.
Place the warning flags at the perimeter of the signal field.
Training Tips
IMPORTANT! Thorough training is required to successfully use this product. Spend the amount of time required to totally familiarize your dog with the fence system.
Make sure you carefully review the training guide provided as part of your containment system.
There are four basic steps involved in training your dog for a wireless fence. Each step should take approximately 3-5 days. Plan to work with your dog for 10-15 minutes, 3 times a day. Consistency and repetition is critical for success.
Teach your dog to be aware of and avoid the flags.
Train your dog to associate the correction (electrical stimulation) with getting too close to the flags.
Use temptations to convince your dog (on-leash) that the fence always matters.
Use more temptations to convince your dog (off-leash) that the fence always matters.
Operating Tips
Twelve hours is the maximum number of hours per day that your dog should wear the collar.
Your dog needs to be supervised when he is in the fenced yard. Underground fencing is helpful in containing your pet, but it cannot prevent the entry of other animals or people into the safe area.
Collar receiver prongs can be positioned at different locations on your dog's neck to prevent irritation to the same spot.
Not intended for use on dogs under 6 months of age or under 8 lbs.
Remove metal collars or collars with metal tags when the PetSafe receiver collar is being worn. It is important, however, that dogs wear identification when outside so we recommend the use of plastic tags.
If you work your dog on a leash, attach it to a collar other than the PetSafe collar.
Warranty Information
Return of your PetSafe Underground Wire Fence to Drs. Foster & Smith for exchange or refund is limited to 60 days from the date of purchase. Beyond 60 days, this product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty and should be returned to PetSafe.
Hidden, electronic, and underground dog fences offer you many benefits. Underground dog fences are also extremely affordable when compared to the costs of constructing a physical fence.
Hidden fences have prevented injury and saved the lives of literally thousands of dogs. A wire is buried around the perimeter of the owner's yard. The dog wears a collar that delivers an audible warning tone when he comes close to the wire.
Please note: Return of electrical equipment to Drs. Foster & Smith for exchange or refund is limited to 60 days from the date of purchase. Beyond 60 days, please contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement as covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
