| Q. | How do I put the Halti on my dog? |
|---|---|
| A. | Standing next to, and slightly behind your dog, place the noseband midway between your dog's eyes and nose, so to not restrict panting, with the metal ring on the bottom. Adjust the neck strap to fit comfortably behind your dog's head, and snap it together. Your Halti is now properly fitted for your dog.
|
| Q. | Will this help control my aggressive dog? |
|---|---|
| A. | The Halti will help you keep an aggressive dog near you, and may help give you better control, but you should never use the Halti as a muzzle, because it will not prevent your dog from biting if he wants to. You may also want to attach your leash to the Halti and a collar, just in case your dog slips out of the Halti.
|
| Q. | Do I still need to use a collar with the Halti Headcollar while walking my dog? |
|---|---|
| A. | No, you don't have to use a collar while using the Halti. You may want to use one if your dog is particularly powerful or frightens easily, or when starting to train your dog to walk with a Halti.
|
| Q. | Does the Halti come in any other color? |
|---|---|
| A. | At this time, the only color that the manufacturer makes the Halti in is black.
|
| Q. | Why is the leash attachment in front and not behind the dog’s head? |
|---|---|
| A. | The ring is in the front of your dog's head to control his head. Behind the head, you would not have as much control. If you can guide your dog's head, his body will follow.
|
| Q. | While my dog is wearing the Halti, will he still be able to eat, drink, bark, pant, etc.? |
|---|---|
| A. | Yes. If the Halti is properly fitted to your dog he will be able to eat, drink, pant, and bark. He will also be able to bite, so if your dog is a biter, or in a situation where you believe he may bite, the Halti will not restrict him and should never be used as a muzzle.
|
| Q. | Can I use a Halti if walking more than one dog at a time, using a couplet? |
|---|---|
| A. | We do not recommend using a couplet to walk more than one dog, when you are using the Halti Head collar. If you want to walk more than one dog at a time using a couplet, we recommended using collars on each of the dogs.
|
| Q. | How long does it usually take before a dog learns to stop pulling? |
|---|---|
| A. | Some dogs may resent the Halti Head collar at first, but once they get used to it, it doesn't usually take too long for them to stop pulling. Start slowly, and don't push your dog to do more than he can handle. He will most likely figure out that he can't pull with the Halti on, but don't be surprised if he tests you from time to time.

I got my Golden from a rescue agency, and he had basically no idea how to walk properly on a leach. He may only weigh 60 pounds but he is way stronger than me, and nothing stopped the pulling. We tried a harness, choke chain, martingale collar, nothing. So we got this and after about 10 minutes of him struggling, he gave in and anyone can walk him now. He doesn't mind it, stands nicely and puts his face in because he knows the Halti means a walk. The only down side is that people don't realize what it is; they think its a muzzle and that he's a dangerous dog. In any case its a great invention. If it works with 1000 pound horses and I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that the same concept works so well for a dog. |

This product is amazing! We have two Labradors Retrievers - 75 and 85 pounds and they were notorious pullers. I could not hold either of them back and gave up on walking all together! This product worked instantly!! I highly recommend giving it a try - you'll be amazed! |

This collar worked immediately on my Pointer, whom I was never able to leash walk without him pulling my arms off. I'd tried using a choke collar and stopping whenever he pulled, but there comes a point when you just need to get there and can ignore the pulling no longer. Thanks to this lead, we can now take even pleasure walks. |

This product worked instantly on our Lab. He was an excessive puller. I have never enjoyed an walk with him and had just given up. We tried this for the first time today and it was fantastic! This is by far the best dog product I have purchased! |

I am the lucky owner of Great Pyrenees twins, Happy and Bear, who together weigh 250+ lbs. Discovering Haltis when they were jumbo-size pups was a godsend- our walks with them immediately went from pain-filled wrestling matches to calm, joyful moments for all. My husband walks 250 lbs. of our Great Pyrs with a coffee cup in his free hand every morning! Afternoons and evenings, I frequently do the same. A must have item- remarkably successful. |

I just recently adopted a Malamute Shepard mix and I could barely walk him on a leash. Indoors you could not ask for a better dog, but outside was a nightmare. After buying your Halti Headcollar, all problems solved. Thanks!!!! |

Halti headcollars are the best in my opinion. I have a 2 1/2 year old Siberian Husky that has only known how to pull sleds. When we got him, we of course wanted him to go on walks. It was miserable until we got the Halti. Boy are walks nice to go on now. No pulling. Walks behind us. The only Con I know of is this: Make sure you get the right size. Too big and it will ride to the dogs eyes and that is no good. Other than that, awesome product. |

I have a 80lb pit-bull mix puppy who was completely impossible to walk. I couldn't even take him up the street a little because he would pull so much that his eyes got bloodshot and he could barely breath. I had to stop walking him because he's so much stronger than me and I couldn't control him at all, and I just had foot surgery and still have stitches in. My dad recommended this collar, and it's amazing. I put the collar on him and he threw a little bit of a fit, but once I got the treats out, he was perfect. Now he walks right beside me, with slack in the leash and everything. I love going on walks with him now, and I can actually walk him until he gets tired, without fear of messing up my foot. This collar is a miracle worker! I would recommend it to anyone! |

When we first got our Lab, he was so tiny but quickly grew and grew. Our behaviorist suggested a HALTI, and he was so right. Our Lab is 125 lbs and I am short five foot tall woman of medium stature. BUT I never worry. I am in control and we walk every single day! He never minds wearing it. But I do have to say, people do think it's a muzzle of sorts, but I am quick to advise them of it's purpose.. out to educate the world! |

We have a Husky that was born to pull, luckily he's not a problem to walk normally. Our problem typically arises on mountainous trails. His pulling uphill is always welcome and encouraged, however his pulling downhill tends to cause problems. We got the Halti for special occasions like this and for training him not to jump on people. With the Halti, our Husky walks NEXT to us (not in front of) and lets people pet him without jumping on them. Granted we only use the Halti for special occasions, but when we do, it works! |

We have a Shepard/Doberman mix who weighs 115 lbs. and could probably bench 3 times that much. He is hard to walk on a regular leash. A major leash puller, absolutely no control. I saw the Halti on Animal Planet and decided to give it a try. At first I didn't have the leash cinched enough around his neck and he was able to get the halter off his nose. Once I got it attached correctly and introduced him to it for a few minutes, I decided to take him for a walk. He walked right beside me and for the most part was a perfect gentleman. If Sagan can take a nice walk ANY dog can! Thanks for a great collar! |

I was really skeptical until I tried it about an hour ago on my 68 lb monster puller of a Pit Bull, P. He used to rip my arms out, lunge after small animals, and generally make walks horrible. We tried halters and choke chains but nothing worked. This Halti is a miracle. He tried to get it off at first but shortly got used to it once we were on the leash. He walks shortly ahead of me and realizes I'm in control now. He's still getting used to it but after only one walk he has improved 90%. Make sure you keep it snug and praise him for wearing it. Take short walks at first with lots of praise. Be patient. In short, if you're desperate to enjoy walks again with your dog, give this a shot! It can't hurt to try it out. I'm very pleased and amazed. |
