just what was needed We purchased a fountain and the water splashed out. We needed a valve that would allow us to decrease the force of the water. This ball valve is perfect! We looked all over and Fosters and Smith was the only place we found exactly what was needed. It came quickly, fit perfectly and is doing exactly what we wanted it to do. March 26, 2012

Great product These are great for use with small hoses when you are either tuning water flow or completely shutting off the flow. I use these on all my smaller filters to let me shut off flow and do maintenance. Without losing the siphon. February 5, 2011

I am curious about your 5/8" ball valves.

I am running 3/4" OD 5/8" ID vinyl tubing on two marineland magnum 350 filters and I am curious if these valves will fit this tubing and if they completely stop flow to aid in spill free filter maintenance?

compatibility

Will this work with the fluval 206. I want to put a uv sterilizer in the loop and I want to be able to get access to the sterilizer without having to take and drain all the hoses. So I would want two of these. Will This work?

Thank you for your question. These ball valves are primarily designed for use with vinyl tubing and held in place with hose clamps. As the The Fluval 206 uses a ribbed plastic hosing, this may not allow for a proper watertight connection with the ball valve.

Work with Aqueon Evolve 2?

I've read on the internet that this valve can help with slowing the flow of the pump in the Aqueon Evolve 2 fish tank, to make it more compatible to a Betta fish (the pump action is much too strong for a Betta, even turned to its lowest setting). As I am new to this, I am unclear on what one does with the valve to control the flow. Before I figure that out, though, I would like to know if this valve is actually compatible with this aquarium pump. Thank you.

A ball valve is used to adjust the flow rate passing through it by turning restricting the speed of water through it. There are four different sizes to choose from, based on the diameter of the tubing you are using.
