Tooth Scaler Single-end
I purchased both the single end and double end tooth scalers for my 5 year old golden retriever. I started out slowly with him, focusing on his back molars and canine teeth, followed by brushing. He's starting to get used to it and his teeth are much better. I'm finding that the single end scaler is working better for me while I get used to using it. We'll try the double end one again as I get more comfortable. This is a great product and I'm really happy to have found it since I don't like the idea of having him put under anesthesia by a vet to clean his teeth!

I used this to get all of the plaque and tarter off of my older toy poodle's teeth. He cannot undergo anesthesia for a dental cleaning at the vet's office, so I figure this is the next best thing. With some coaxing I even got the inner side of all of the teeth.

Works really well
This tooth scaler is very effective, easy to use and our dog stays totally relaxed while having her teeth cleaned. I have been able to remove a great deal of build-up on her teeth.

I am so grateful that I bought this tool when I first got my puppy!(actually your "double-ended" is my favorite one--not the single thick-head one shown above. I lost original one from Dr. F&S, and reordered same recently.) I practiced frequently play-like cleaning teeth from the time I got him.
Jesse is 14 pounds and four years old now; and thank goodness I can clean his teeth with this tool. Otherwise, before now, he would have needed dental cleaning at the vet..
I lay him on bathmats on top of dryer in laundry room. I have gooseneck lamp for BRIGHTEST light on shelf above. So slow and careful around gums--never hurt him al all. I use q-tip to help stretch mouth skin open in back.I praise him continually and chip off all crust. He KNOWS it feels better when done, it seems."GOOD BOY!"
