Basic In-Ground Fencing System Extra Collar, 2.5 oz
Best decision I ever made
For starters, I have never used an invisible fence system before and was kind of actually against them. I live on 2+ acres and I have sheep and chickens next door, so when I got my new puppy I decided to give it a try so I could keep her in the yard. Don't be fooled, this product actually allows your dog to be a dog and is not constantly zapping your pooch. If you follow the instructions with regards to training, your dog will pick up on it super quick. My 4 month old puppy picked up on it in about a day and has only been zapped twice in 3 months, and that was only on day one. Now I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about "introducing" her to the shock, but it isn't that bad. The flags really work too - after day one, If my puppy saw one of the flags, she would go the other direction. Now she's happy because she has 2 acres to run around in and I'm happy because I don't have to be a hawk and constantly watch her. Allowing your dog to explore on their own really lets them be a dog... I am totally for this system.
- FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. Don't rush the introduction process - they have steps to follow over a course of a week or two that eases the dog into it using flags and audio signals.
- I used a trencher that a rented from my local tool rental place for $40. I did just under 2 acres in a couple hours. If you rent one of these trenchers, it makes the job super easy.
- Just for reference: for just under 2 acres, I purchased 2 extra spools of wire for a total of 1,500 feet. I probably had 300 feet left when I was done.
- Hooking the wires up to the unit is a breeze. If you have ever put speaker wire into the back of a speaker, that I the exact same system they use... could not be easier.

I love this!
I cant tell you how much peace of mind I have with this underground fencing. Weve had it for several years. Our control panel got hit by lightening one year. They replaced it, no questions asked. I love to watch my Golden Retrievers running outside and playing and me having the peace of mind knowing that they're not going anywhere. We have 5 acres, so they have plenty of room to run. I also love the warning feature. You can just barely hear it beep when they get too close to the line. Ive tested this on myself. (collar in hand) and it gives a good jolt. Enough to scare the dog to run back the direction it came. Not enough to hurt the dog. Unfortunately I wish it would deter other dogs from coming into our yard.....But atleast it keeps my furry children safe inside the perimeter...

this product is easy to install
This is my first fence I put in. I love it ,my dog stays in the yard instead of running out in the road. She got trained in about a week. I got a lab and she loves to run and play. i can trust her when I'm out in the yard working and don't have to keep one eye on her all the time

Easy to install, durable, easy to train dog to
We have purchased three of these in the past 10 years. One for my parents, one for myself, and another for myself when I moved. All were installed manually by us. Usually took about a day - it depends on the type of soil and yard you are working with. Well worth it! After doing the training as instructed with the video, we have trained 6 dogs to this type of fence and never had a problem. I like the warning tone feature best - it gives them a heads up they need to turn around. I feel so much more comfortable knowing I can leave my dog outside and enjoy the outdoors when I cant. I always keep an eye on them of course, but the fence is a miracle! Even when we are working outside with the dogs, it's a nice reassurance - we dont have to worry where they are all the time, and they dont need to be confined or tied up. I highly recommend with the proper training.
