Variable flow control powerhead great for undergravel filters
*
Adjustable clamp fits most aquariums
This dependable model increases water flow through undergravel filters to improve their filtering efficiency. It also oxygenates water to sustain beneficial bacteria and optimize their biological filtration capabilities. Easily fitted to most undergravel systems and comes equipped with a tapered riser stem adapter, which accepts 1/2" to 1-1/8" tubing, adjustable flow control on all models except 110, filtered air intake, and an epoxy-filled motor. Models 20 and 30 feature a deflection shield for angled flow control, and Models 50 and 70 offer both forward and reverse water flow. Model 110 offers over 930 gph.
Instantly turn your powerhead into an internal mechanical filter by adding an AquaClear Quick Filter. This simple addition supplements aquarium filtration by rapidly removing suspended waste materials.

The addition of air results in a decrease in water flow.
Reverse Flow Operation: Both forward and reverse water flow. Keeps the substrate cleaner by forcing debris to the top.
Maintenance: The motor unit is hermetically sealed and filled with epoxy, thereby requiring no lubrication or other maintenance. Although the impeller cavity is self cleaning, regular maintenance is recommended. Disassemble the complete impeller cavity by removing the impeller housing and the impeller. Thoroughly clean all parts to remove accumulated slime, dirt, or debris. Deposits of limestone can be removed with a few drops of lemon juice. Then rinse with fresh water. After cleaning, replace impeller onto the shaft and carefully replace impeller housing. Fasten by turning the impeller housing and ensuring a proper fit.

I own the AquaClear 50, and this powerhead is by far the best powerhead on the market, and if you add the Hydro flo rotating deflector, you trully will have the best and hardest working powerhead on the market. This product is great.
I did the research and bought this awesome product!! ALL powerheads should have a variable speed! This thing is a work horse and when you add the quick filter, it will clean up your aquarium in no time! I HIGHLY recommend this product, most bang for your buck! TOTALLY SILENT!!!!!!!
I have two of the 201 powerfilters in my 30 gallon aquarium and have never had a better powerhead. It's durable and does an excellent job of keeping my tank clear and clean. I plan to get two of the 301 powerfilters for my new 55 gallon aquarium. Thanks for the wonderful product.
I have a PowerHead 201 - the old version of the model 21 - and it has run, without pause, 24/7, for the last twelve years...still silent, no repairs, no replacement. I give them to friends who are starting their own aquariums.
I have 4 model 802 (now 70). 1 in my pond. 2 in the tank and 1 in the sump. Silent work horses. At least 15 years old.
The pond pump lies on it's side and after 4 years, the shaft wore a flat spot. And the gasket broke apart. Parts are easily replaced. All still going strong.
I have two AquaClear 70's in my 75 gal. tank using normal flow direction to two UGF's. I was using two Penguin 660R's with reversed flow. I find that the choice of normal flow with the 70's is best for my system. Years ago I used AquaClear Powerheads and still can't figure out why I switched. If you plan to use powerheads in your system there is no other choice then AquaClear Powerheads.
I use the model 50, (old 402) with a quick filter mainly for an aerator in my 30 gallon tank. It oxygenates the water and is quieter than the air pump it replaced. The aerator works great. The quick filter keeps fish from getting sucked into the bottom and keeps the water polished. AquaClear Powerheads are the best powerheads you can get. They are well built, quiet and last for years.
A proper flow rate is essential for your aquarium's filter to work its best. This means that your aquarium will stay cleaner longer, providing a healthier environment for your inhabitants.
A crucial - and often overlooked - aspect of keeping a reef aquarium is water movement. Proper water movement goes a long way toward helping a reef system thrive. Corals and other reef inhabitants are accustomed to rapid, constant water movement.
Moving water plays an important role in creating a healthy aquarium environment. The submersible Hydor Koralia propeller pump offers expanded water circulation options. Read more here.
Don't take the quality of your tap water for granted. If you draw your water from a well, nature may not be providing you the perfect balance. If you are using tap water from your municipal department, it likely includes minerals and additives.
