Wouldn’t you like to make the statement, "I had a Nitrate problem?" Without a doubt, this product is AMAZING! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I've kept a reef aquarium for years, and the one problem I've had is nitrates. I always followed the recommended water change schedule and bought every additive I could find to reduce the nitrates, but nothing helped. Finally I purchased the nitrate reductor and the problem was solved. My nitrates are now undetectable and best of all... the reductor is maintenance free! Thank you, Drs. Foster & Smith for offering this amazing product.
Finally, a product that delivers results. I have tried everything possible to reduce my nitrate levels in my tank. I've tried De-Nitrate, AZN03, Nitrex, and a powder called Nitrate remover and none worked. I must tell you that at first, I told myself how will this work, but it does. At the beginning of week one I was scared since the Nitrate levels jumped to 80PPM, but that's normal since the filter is cycling, then after one week, my nitrate levels in my tank went from 80PPM to 40PPM. Then in 3 weeks, down to 5PPM.. it's amazing. Now I have in my tank several Macro Algae, inverts, and corals that love low nitrate levels.
My 55 gallon freshwater tank with undergravel filter has been in operation for 5 years and the nitrate level was over 100 ppm. I tried upping the water changes and adding nitrate absorbing pouches to my canister filter and nothing made a dent in the problem. Until I got the nitrate reductor. It brought the nitrate level to below 20 ppm in a few weeks time.
Don't take the quality of your tap water for granted. If you draw your water from a well, nature may not be providing you the perfect balance. If you are using tap water from your municipal department, it likely includes minerals and additives.
Algae are prolific and opportunistic organisms that take advantage of aquarium systems that are out of balance. Water quality issues create ideal conditions for algae. This article explains how proper water quality helps control algae.
Coral propagation is a challenging and rewarding aspect of the reef aquarium hobby. It is also a great way to promote coral conservation. Learn more here.
