Automatic Feeder Fish Mate
only one of the sort that i have found
This is the only auto feeder that i have found that really makes it convenient to skip days on your feeding schedule/s. I run a 16 gal nano reef with only one clownfish (and a sixline wrasse who grazes for most of his food and is less dependent on pellet) so its important to me to avoid overfeeding. With the fishmate, I simply choose to load every other food partition and my clown is fed small amounts of pellet every other day...reliably. I was able to go away for 2 weeks knowing that my clown was fed and my nitrate levels weren't going to spike due to overfeeding. Great feeder for nano reef aquaria where daily feeding is unnecessary.

The fish mate is a very versatile feeder.
The fish mate is a very versatile feeder. The things I like about it is that it's shape allows it to fit in narrow spaces. The other important feature is that it keeeps food dry. The food clumps up in other automatic feeders I have bought.

I bought this last year for a weeks vacation the the Dominican Republic. It worked great. It dispenses food slowly over a 1 hour period as the tray rotates slowly the food falls through a hole into the tank. It's a neat design where the time piece continually rotates but the tray that holds the food only rotates when the time piece encounters the little spacers you put on the time piece at specific times of the day. It worked great with regular flake food and there was no need to use an air pump as an option (though I could see how the air pump could help keep the food dry) The fact that it dispenses the food slowly allow the fish to consume all the food before it falls to the bottom making a mess. Definitely recommend !

great product for the price
This product is very good for the price. I have used it for two separate vacations and it has worked flawlessly. Fill it up before I leave and forget about it. Very simple design, very simple use. I would recommend using this for up to a week. I feed a 55gal tank using shrimp pellets, flake and blood-worms once a day... the combination clogs the feeder and it will not dispense after about eight days. smaller tanks using only flake should be fine for the two week duration that is advertised. My set up requires a more diverse diet and I may be over loading the feeder.
Cleaning is easy. I am very satisfied with this product for its ease of use and simplicity. If you are leaving an expensive set up for an extended period of time I would invest in a more reliable system.
