I use Purigen in my 5.5 gallon mantis shrimp tank. This works great keeping the water crystal clear. It can be difficult to keep nitrates down in such a small tank. This has helped a lot. I love the fact that it's regenerable, I use a reef buffer to help with the regeneration. I will definitely be buying more for my other tanks. |

One word, AMAZING! My tap water is very high in nitrates and on a good day my tank was just under 40ppm, and that was right after a water change. Now, using one 100 bag (in a 46 bow front) my nitrates are a 5. You almost have to stick you hand in the tank to believe there is water in it. This has to be the best product out there. The results are immediate. I would suggest this product to anyone. I use an emperor 480, which is not very compatible with a bag of media. I just put this bag in one side of the filter (only passing half the water through it at a time) and I had results in a few hours. Buy this, you will love it. |

I agree! Purigen is well worth the initial expense and can be regenerated several times! Great stuff! |

I used to struggle with high no3 in my saltwater reef tank and was doing partial water changes of 20+% weekly just to keep it below 20 ppm. I was slightly overstocked and overfed but even thinning out the stock, reducing feedings, and using a decent skimmer I still struggled to keep my no3 below 20 ppm. After reading many reviews of Purigen I decided to give it a try. I started using 3 100 ml bags in my sump and still do and within a week my no3 went from 40 ppm to 5 ppm. After a month and still no partial water changes it was still at 5 ppm or undetectable. I've been using it for 8 months now and I replace them every 5 months. I now do 10% partial water changes weekly mostly just to replace trace elements and to help keep my ph, ca, and alk stable but my fish/inverts/corals have never looked better. I love this product and wonder how I survived without it. |

Purigen is absolutely amazing! I can't say anymore. My water is so clear, it looks like I don't have water in the tank........and no nitrates! Thanks Seachem. |

Incredible product. I bought a packet after reading that it would remove driftwood tannins, and I have to report it does so phenomenally. Stuck the pouch in my Penguin 150 power filter (fit nicely between the cartridge and the Biowheel), and within 1-2 day my water went from looking like coffee to crystal clear. Now I use it in all of my tanks, and it keeps my water clear and all of my ammonia and nitrites at zero in my slightly overstocked cichlid tank, and the nitrates low in all my tanks. My favorite part is that this media is reusable, just follow the directions and soak it in bleach overnight, then dechlorinate it. The only issue I have with the Purigen is that the media is so fine. I bought it in the 100ml pouches because my tanks are small (35gal), so I didn't have to worry about it, but as loose media, it would be a real pain to find a bag fine enough to hold it. |
