Coralife Trap'Em®

Keep bristleworm population under control for healthy, beautiful reef aquariums. Coralife Trap'Em is an injection-molded plastic trap designed to catch bristle and other worms that may be harmful to a reef aquarium. Simply place bait in bait compartment at night, and remove worms in the morning. It's that simple. Includes free sample of freeze-dried plankton for baiting. • Separate the two main bodies of the Trap'Em by pulling them completely apart. Remove Bait Cap.
• Place a small piece of plankton or krill inside Bait Compartment and insert Bait Cap. Note: Do not block the holes in the Bait Compartment or Bait Cap. These holes allow scent and water to flow through the unit.
• Fully extend unit and place in a horizontal position. Place where bristleworms are most active. Note: Always remove unit from aquarium in the morning to prevent the uneaten food from spoiling. Use caution when disposing of bristleworms, as they have bristles on both side of their body that can inflict a painful sting.

Helpful Hints

• Use solid bait such as plankton or krill. Small bristleworms will not move far from their holes. Unit must be placed within one inch of their holes.
• Worms up to 12 inches long have been caught with the Trap'Em. For worms larger than 12 inches, sand down the tips of the End Caps to enlarge the hole.
• If there is a heavy population of bristleworms, check unit after one hour.
• Avoid heavy feeding in the aquarium while using Trap'Em. The bristleworm will eat the food in the aquarium and not the trap.
• Use the unit nightly until no bristleworms are collected for two consecutive days.
• To remove any residual air bubbles, remove End Caps while unit is submerged.

General Information
The use of Trap'Em is a quick and efficient way to trap and remove bristleworms from your reef aquarium. Just add bait and place unit in the aquarium at night and remove trapped bristleworms (Hermodice carunculata) the following morning. Because bristleworms are nocturnal and reclusive, they will remain hidden in rocks during the day and come out at night in search for food. This is the perfect time to Trap'Em.

Bristleworms feed on corals, anemones, gorgonians, feather dusters, mollusks and clams. They are present in most reef aquariums, where they live in rocks and corals. Because bristleworms grow and multiply rapidly, they should be removed quickly to prevent them from becoming a problem.
