If your dog is prone to dry skin or a dull coat, you will probably need to give the Derm Caps for the life of your dog. Some dogs whose skin and coat problems are due to poor nutrition or illness may not need as much of a fatty acid supplement once these conditions are corrected.
Derm Caps can be given with other supplements, such as vitamins and over-the-counter medications. If your pet is on prescription medications or has a condition such as a digestive problem, check with your veterinarian before adding a fatty acid supplement to your pet's diet.
Both the liquid and the capsules contain the same active ingredients and provide the same results. Some dogs have a hard time taking pills and so for those dogs a liquid is easier to dose. For the dogs that don't have a problem with pills, the capsules work just fine.
