I'd had a pet fountain that probably was beyond its life expectancy... In use for around 8 years. It had become very noisy, and sediment would sit at the bottom of the bowl. It was complicated to clean as there were many pieces that came apart, and places that were hard to get to that would accumulate a lot of smelly slime. (I'm sure they've redesigned and made improvements by now.) In looking for a replacement, I read several reviews and settled on this product hoping for a quiet motor and easy to clean parts. I have not been disappointed! The water is circulated strongly enough to keep sediment from settling, but not so strong that it is messy or loud. You can hear a faint hum of the motor, but it isn't loud by any means. I look forward to using this product for many years, and hope that it stands up to the test of time.

I have a Great Dane and his watering bowl had always been a challenge...Until I bought this bowl! The water stays super clean and last for days!! As I have read in other post some dogs may be a little timid about the water "burping" as it passes thru the reserve tank when they drink initially , but after a couple of weeks my dog doesn't even notice it now. I have bought so many different filtered bowls in the past and they never lasted ... didn't really keep the water clean ... were too loud...or were too small for my big dog. None of these are issue with this system. It's super quiet, has a huge reserve tank, and the water stays crystal clear!! You will not regret buying this product!!!

Love it! I have four shitz Zhus and although one of them is nervous around anything that makes noise, he has learned that this one is okay to use. (Not an easy feat!) I had to give him his own bowl for a bit, but set it right next to the new waterer and he decided it wasn't going to hurt him. He still is not happy with the water moving, but found I turned it off during the day for a about a week and then slowly kept it on longer and longer. Now he thinks if the others can use so can he.. they have survived drinking from it. With these high summer temperatures I'm thrilled that they always have plenty of water to drink. They are all happy campers!!
