I had purchased the sea grass cat scratcher for one of my cats, who love his old scratcher, but it is shredded to pieces. So, I attempted to get him a new one. Well, he has not taken to it, but my other cat seems to love it. Overall, I would recommend it, but consider carefully. If you have more than one cat, the one you purchase it for, may turn their nose up and the other will adopt it. It is a good buy and maybe, Theo will change his mind.

I like the post the cat is attracted to it but it needs more felt feet on the bottom it gets a bit off balance when the cat steps on the stand and can tip over. So I think adding a couple more of those felt discs on the bottom will cure the problem.

I have been happily buying things from Drs. foster & Smith for years!! I must say that this is the first time that I have received what I believe to be an unsatisfactory product. First of all, the top piece on the pole was not glued securely and came loose the first time that the cat swatted the attached toy. That was when I realized that the whole object was wrapped in one continuous piece of cord...even the base. The cat did NOT take to the smell and when the one time she scratched the base, it came up in her claws.

Within minutes of setting out this post my cats had it tipped over and the winds of seagrass on the base were completely pulled loose of the base. I've spent an hour this morning rewinding the strands and applying new glue to the base. It's so unstable that my 3 pound kitten can tip it over in under a minute.
