Easy to clean substrate for your aquatic turtle's habitat made from real river stones. Exo Terra Turtle Pebbles are rounded over time to create a smooth surface that prevents injury to bottom dwelling or foraging turtles. The variations of colors and patterns give you a natural looking "riverbed" for a naturalistic turtle habitat. These 8-10mm pebbles are perfect substrate for turtles with a shell diameter of 4" or less. One 10 lb bag covers a 10-gallon terrarium or vivarium.

Choosing a substrate

The right choice of substrate will enhance the appearance of your herp's habitat, but more importantly, it will keep spilled water, food, feces, and urates away from your pet. If you choose soil or sand, it must be initially sterile. If it is not, you might introduce microorganisms into the environment that could compromise your herp's health. To ensure a clean environment, we recommend commercially available products. These will enable you to achieve the look you desire, while providing the healthy conditions your pet requires.
