Thundershirt Calming Cap Size: XSmall
This product works like magic
Our Doberman is very aggressive when riding in the car and gets frustrated when he can't get to what he thinks is a threat, which unfortunately is anything he sees, so he bites at the back of the seats, he has done damage to both the car and the truck. With the Thundershirt calming mask on he lies in the back seat and sleeps or stands quietly. We will purchase this mask again when our original one wears out which doesn't look like anytime soon.

Great product! Same material as fly masks for horses.
So I know that my dog can see through it. I think that the concept
is great. We use it in the car as one of our dogs barks at everything.
This certainly helps. I don't think we will have to use it forever.
Once he relaxes in the vehicle we may only need it on occasion.

Excellent training tool
Like any other training tool, you need to know how to use it, but that said, this tool can be extremely helpful. Just as it is a little tricky for many people to condition dogs to accept and relax in a head halter, you need to know how to train -- or that is, condition the dog gradually to accept and forget about the cap -- for it to work.
I begin with very short exposures, and excellent treats, and slowly build to applying the cap and feeding for longer periods. You could apply the cap before every meal and take it off when the dog has finished eating. Then if the dog likes to be petted or enjoys brushing, or tugging, apply the cap, do the fun thing, take it off.

Purchased for car anxiety 8 yr old dog.
Purchased for dog with anxiety issues in the car along with the Thundershirt. The dog has a screeching bark when cars pass in the opposite direction on the highway.
I have only had the opportunity to use this product once and instead of numerous outbreaks from the dog I had just one short outburst, then calm the remainder of the trip. This is a tremendous improvement.
Can't wait to use it on my next trip. There is hope!
My dog easily accepted use of this product.
