Bio Chem Zorb
Purpose and Benefits: Bio Chem Zorb is a water filtration media comprised of research-grade organic scavenger resins, pharmaceutical-grade ion-exchange resins, and high-porosity activated carbon in a flow-through media pouch. Removes dissolved organic pollutants from freshwater and saltwater aquariums and can be used in any filter.
Fish, invertebrates, plants, algae, and uneaten fish food release a variety of organic pollutants into the aquarium. When these pollutants accumulate in an aquarium, a stressful environment is created for all inhabitants. Poor water quality leads to lower disease resistance, inhibited growth, reduced oxygen level, discolored aquarium water, and foul odors. Continuous filtration with Bio Chem Zorb will restore water quality and create crystal clear water.
Bio Chem Zorb works in freshwater aquariums by ion exchange and adsorption. The organic scavenger resins and activated carbon adsorb dissolved organics. The ion-exchange resins remove toxic heavy metals such as copper and lead. Use Bio Chem Zorb in freshwater aquariums to keep the water healthy and sparkling clear.
In saltwater, Bio Chem Zorb relies on the powerful adsorption properties of the organic scavenger resins and activated carbon. Bio Chem Zorb is especially useful in removing refractory organics that cause yellow water, which results from a buildup of dissolved organics. These organic pollutants reduce the transmittance of blue light necessary for many marine invertebrates.
When to use: Use when starting or maintaining an aquarium to remove aquarium pollutants or whenever colors or odors are detected.
Directions for Use
- Rinse cartridge under cool tap water to remove loose dust.
- Cartridge does not need to rinse clear.
- Replace every 2 months or sooner if aquarium is heavily stocked and/or colors and odors are detected.
Compatibility:
Bio Chem Zorb can be used in all freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
Nitra-Zorb
Nitra-Zorb is a blend of natural and synthetic ion-exchange resins that selectively remove ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate from freshwater aquariums. Nitra-Zorb also helps during start up by reducing unhealthy ammonia surges while establishing the aquarium's ecosystem. Nitra-Zorb is completely phosphate-free and can be reused after recharging. Nitra-Zorb is scientifically proven to remove ammonia and nitrite to reduce the risk of fish loss when starting an aquarium. It also reduces nitrate in the aquarium. Ideal for immediate aquarium start up.
When to use: Use when starting or maintaining an aquarium or whenever ammonia or nitrite is detected. Also, use whenever nitrate levels measures above 20 ppm.
Directions for Use
- Rinse cartridge under cool tap water to remove loose dust.
- Cartridge does not need to rinse clear.
- Replace every 2 months or sooner if aquarium is heavily stocked or when undesirable levels are detected.
Compatibility:
Nitra-Zorb is for freshwater aquariums only.
Phos-Zorb
Phos-Zorb is a specialized, synthetic adsorption filtration media that selectively removes phosphate in fresh and saltwater aquariums, as well as silicate found in tap water. Phos-Zorb effectively removes phosphate and silicate and will not release them back into the water for long-lasting phosphate control. A clean aquarium environment free of excess phosphate means enhanced growth of corals in saltwater aquariums and superior plant growth in freshwater aquariums. Phos-Zorb also helps prevent calcium precipitation caused by excess phosphate in reef aquariums to help promote the growth of reef-building corals.
When to use: Use when testing indicates the presence of phosphate (greater than 0 ppm) or silicate (greater than 0.5 ppm).
Directions for Use
- Rinse cartridge under cool tap water for several minutes to remove dust and activate the Phos-Zorb. The activation process will temporarily generate some heat.
- Cartridge does not need to rinse clear.
- Replace every 2 months or sooner if aquarium is heavily stocked or when testing indicates the presence of phosphate or silicate.
Compatibility:
Phos-Zorb can be used in all freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
nexx Pre-filter Foam
nexx Pre-filter Foam provides additional mechanical filtration. 30 ppi (pores per inch) pre-filter foam traps fine particles from aquarium water.
Directions for Use
Place a nexx Pre-filter Foam into the bottom of the filtration compartment.
Every month, wash the foam pad thoroughly in a basin of water taken from your aquarium. Replace the foam every three months.
Compatibility:
nexx Pre-filter Foam can be used in all freshwater and saltwater aquariums. |
