Dr Emmo's Ear Rinse 4 oz
The only ear cleanser my dogs will easily tolerate
Other ear cleansers send my 50-pound, very strong English setter running, but he'll allow me to use this one. I saturate cotton pads with it and then squeeze them to gently trickle the cleanser into his ears, followed by swabbing with the damp cotton. He still doesn't especially like the process, but will stay mostly calm until it's done.
After I finish combing and brushing him I pull out the sandwich bag I put the saturated cotton pads in (putting the bag in my pocket and letting the cleanser warm up a bit seems to make the cleaning more comfortable for him). He cautiously sniffs the open bag and then sits to let me gently clean his ears.
I use this product two or three times a week because my dogs play outside a lot, and as part of the fun this one rolls in the powdery dirt, which gets into his long, floppy ears. In our mostly humid climate, that can very quickly get to be a real problem. Finding a product he'll tolerate has been a huge help.
My other English setter had an ear infection during this past summer, and once that was properly treated I started using Dr. Emmo's regularly. Neither dog has had an ear infection since then.
This cleanser has only a very light scent, not medicinal at all, and it washes off my hands easily. The only improvement I can suggest for this product is offering it in a larger, more economically priced bottle.
