Charging the Unit
Unit must be fully charged before operating. Otherwise, damage to the battery and electrical components could result. Follow these directions and allow unit to charge for at least 16 hours before initial operation.
There are three LEDs in the clipper to let you know the status of the charge. If all three are lit, then the batteries are at full charge. If two LED's are lit, then the unit is at about 40-80% charged. If only one LED is on, then the unit has less than 30% charge. The LEDs will blink in sequence while the unit is charging.
This unit is made with powerful Ni-MH batteries. Brand new batteries may not reach their full potential until they have experienced 3-5 complete charge/discharge cycles. Initial operating times may be somewhat reduced. However, after this initial conditioning period, the batteries should function properly.
- Plug the Power Cord into an outlet with the rated voltage for your unit.
- Plug the other end into the Clipper. Note that the cord will only fit into the Clipper in the proper orientation.
- Make sure that the switch on the unit is in the "OFF" position.
- The LEDs will turn on if the cord is inserted properly into the Clipper.
- If the LEDs do not turn on, then re-insert the cord into the Clipper and push gently on the Clipper to engage the contacts. If the LEDs do not turn on, then there may be dirt or grease on the contacts of the Clipper or Cord. Clean the contacts with an approved cleaning solution.
- The LEDs will stay on as long as the unit is attached to the Power Cord and the cord is plugged into the wall.
Operating the Unit
The Clipper is designed to operate in either cordless or corded mode. The preferred method is cordless as it ensures a longer life for the battery.
Note: Always apply one to two drops of the provided blade lubricant to the blades before use. Cutting efficiency may drop and blades and motor may be damaged if hair is dirty or hair styling agents have been applied. Always make sure the hair is clean before using the Clipper.
Blade Adjustment and Blade Replacement
This unit is equipped with a rotary blade adjustment mechanism.
- Turn the blade adjustment ring counter-clockwise to increase the length of hair left on your pet.
- Turn the blade adjustment ring clockwise to decrease the length of hair left on your pet.
- To replace the blade, align the tab on the blade set with the tab receptacle on the Clipper and push the blade in. If you encounter difficulty doing this, then turn the adjustment ring counter-clockwise until it stops and repeat the procedure.
