Bite Free Collars Collar, 11"-15"
This collar is a great alternative to the e-collar. At least the dog can see around himself, can eat from a dish, and generally function as normal. The only thing is make sure you get the right size. If the collar isn't wide enough to stabilize the neck, the dog can still reach most of his hind legs with a little effort. My boxer was creative enough to reach his incision on his lower rear leg. That being said, this collar made this surgery much easier on him. It functioned well enough for me to recommend it.

I gave this a 5 star because of the quality, but this product might not work with certain dogs. Be careful what size you get. I bought the 21"-23" which is only 5 inches long. I wasn't aware of how much you can adjust it. If I had know that I would have bought one size up with a 6" length. I was going by neck size only. It didn't work. My dog was able to reach her spay incision with ease. I do believe that 1 inch would have made a difference. Dummy me. However, what I did to make it work was take a thick, folded towel, wrap it tightly around her neck and secured it with the collar. That worked great. Also, if you don't use the strap that goes around their girth it is a nuisance. It gets in the way of the velcro straps. I almost cut it off. Bottom line, while this collar will work with most dogs, it probably won't work with ALL dogs. Keep that in mind.

I wanted to try something "better" than the Elizabethan collar after my Boxer's surgery...mainly because there was about three feet of snow on the ground and I could envision the poor boy using the collar as a snow scoop. Also, I wanted him to be comfortable walking around, riding in the car, and in his crate. This collar worked perfectly. He did not lick his surgical incision (neutering) even once. He seemed comfortable and relaxed. I saved it for my other dogs, in case of surgery. A great product!

I used this for trimming my dog's nails. I have a couple of dogs that are nippy and this calms them down. I love it.
