works like a charm
I have several cats but only one chooses to be outside day and night. To keep him safe from weather and other animals, I had this cat door put into my garage door so he can access it from outside. He has a bed and food in the garage, available only to him. The door makes a buzzing noise as it releases, which made him hesitate to use it at first. However, he comes and goes freely now and I feel comfortable knowing I've provided him the best possible environment, given his refusal to stay in the house!

Finally, a good product.
My cat has been using his new door for the last 2 months. I've had problems with raccoons entering in my house before, but not any more! Kitty got easily accustomed with it. One recommendation: buy a couple more discs as they get lost easily or find a good quality collar.

Does not work on standard steel doors.
I tried the door before installing it and everything was working fine. But after cutting a hole in my brand new steel door and installing the cat flap when came time to send my first pet thru the door it was a huge disapointement when it turned out that it wasn't working. The metal was interfering with the electomagnetic field or something ... Anyways result it's not working and now I am stuck sending it back and loose like 30 $ of shipping and taping my door until I can find an alternative. Nowhere was it mentioned anywhere that the door wouldn't work and it's really disapointing.
