Build-Your-Own LED EggLite Components

STEP 1
Pick your Power Supply
Choose weather-resistant Solar Panel with Lithium Polymer battery to harness and store FREE solar energy to power up to 6 LED EggLites. Automatically turns lights ON/OFF with built-in photo sensor.

STEP 2
Decide How Many EggLites You Need
2-pk LED EggLites available in Green or Red create instant drama to water features, landscaping, fountains, and more. Bendable 16" cords wrap easily around fountainheads for convenient positioning. Fully-submersible EggLites can be placed above or below water and include three-way connector to link together multiple EggLites with the use of additional EggLite Cords.

Step 3
Select Enough EggLite Cords to Power Your System
Ensure a water-tight connection between your EggLite Power Source (Solar Panel or Low-Voltage Transformer) and LED EggLites. Link together multiple EggLites by inserting EggLite Cord into the third receptacle found on the EggLite three-way connector.

Select color for EggLites: Blue, Green, Red, or White.

For use with Solar Panel

Assembly: Solar Panel

1. To ensure a waterproof connection, place an O-ring onto each light plug.
2. Insert each of the two light plugs into a three-way connector receptacle and then tighten the connectors. IMPORTANT: Align the flat sides on the plugs and the receptacles for proper polarization. If the plugs are not inserted correctly, the lights will not illuminate.
3. Connect additional lights to the third receptacle on the three-way connector.
4. Connect one end of the extension cord to the short cord of the Solar Panel. Connect the opposite end to the three-way connector. NOTE: Ensure that the flats are aligned as previously described.
5. Attach extension to ground stake.
6. Slide the MODE switch to the RUN position. This will automatically turn the lights off during the day so that the battery can recharge. It will also turn the lights on during the night to illuminate your landscape. NOTE: For the automatic on/off switching to work properly, ensure the photocell is not covered and is always exposed to ambient light.
7. Your LED EggLites should now be fully functional. The lights should turn on with the Solar Panel in a mostly dark room, and turn off when the room is well lit.

Installation and Operation: Solar Panel

1. Consider the following to determine the best location for your solar LED EggLites:

   The lights can be used dry or submerged in your water feature. The Solar Panel should not be submerged, but can withstand rainy, outdoor environments. Each light comes with a 16-inch pliable cord that can be formed to stand on its own or coiled around foliage and fountainheads in the landscape. Choose a location for the Solar Panel that maximizes its exposure to the sun. Locate the Solar Panel so that its surface is mostly perpendicular to the sun's rays throughout the day. The Solar Panel can be secured using one of two methods.

   1) Ground Stake: Use the attached ground stake to secure the panel into the ground of the landscape. To adjust the orientation of the panel to the sun, loosen the stake screw, pivot the panel to the desired orientation, then tighten the screw. 2) Frame Mounting: The Solar Panel frame has slots that accommodate a variety of mounting methods. Use #6 size wood screws (not included) to secure the panel to a fixed board or post, or use wire (not included) to loop through the slots and secure the panel to a fence or similar item.

   An optional extension cord (5- or 10-foot) can be purchased to provide greater distance between the EggLites and the three-way connector. See list of accessories (sold separately).

2. Install the pre-assembled lights and Solar Panel.
3. Check to see that all LED EggLites illuminate when the ambient light turns dark.

Maintenance: Solar Panel

1. BATTERY: Although your kit's battery has a long life, it may eventually need to be replaced. Please follow the instructions below:
   • Loosen the stake screw at the stake pivot point and rotate the stake to allow access to the battery cover.
   • Remove the 2 battery screws from the cover.
   • Remove the battery cover.
   • Remove the battery and disconnect the cable.
   • Connect and install the new battery. Use an authorized replacement battery only (Mfg# 950785).
   • Replace the battery cover and secure it with the 2 cover screws.
   • Rotate the stake back to its original position and tighten the stake screw.
2. PHOTOCELL: For proper operation of the automatic on/off feature, periodically clean the photocell window using a clean, damp cloth.

For use with Transformer

Assembly: Transformer

1. To ensure a waterproof connection, place an O-ring onto each light plug. (NOTE: The factory may have already installed the O-rings but please check before installation.)
2. Insert each of the two light plugs into a receptacle on the three-way splitter and then tighten the connectors. (NOTE: Align the flat sides on the plugs and the receptacles for proper polarization. If plugs are not inserted correctly, the lights will not illuminate.)
3. Connect additional lights (sold separately) to the third receptacle on the three-way connector.
4. Insert the power cord plug into the Transformer receptacle and then tighten the connector.
5. Coil the pliable cord on each LED EggLite so that the light stands on its own, or wrap the cord around foliage or fountainheads.

Operation: Transformer
LED EggLites can be used dry or submerged. The Low-Voltage Transformer will operate up to 12 LED EggLites.

1. Connect the Transformer to a grounded 120-volt outlet. WARNING: The transformer and all connections must remain dry.
2. Check to ensure that all EggLites illuminate.
