Fluval Ebi Shrimp Stratum

Simplify maintenance and decoration of your Fluval Ebi Nano Shrimp Habitat aquarium. Light, non-compacting, porous Fluval Stratum is a substrate specially designed for shrimp and planted aquariums. This dark-colored substrate provides places for newborn shrimp to hide, ideal surface area for nitrifying bacteria, excellent rooting medium for plants, and beautiful contrast to light-colored plants and decorations. Stratum promotes a neutral to mildly acidic pH. For freshwater use only.

Directions
Gently rinse Fluval Stratum in a large colander or similar device without agitating the substrate to remove fine dust particles. Place the contents required into an empty aquarium. Place a dish or something similar on top of Fluval Shrimp Stratum when filling the aquarium to minimize disruption of the substrate. It may take several hours before aquarium water becomes clear. Temporary turbidity is safe for shrimp.

Caution: Do not stir the stratum. Do not mix with other gravels. Handle the granules with care when changing water.

Important: When performing partial water changes avoid excess turbulence of this substrate with a gravel washer. This substrate is not intended for use with fish that would actively dig and move it about the aquarium - Not for use with fish such as many African and Central American Cichlids or goldfish and koi. This product is not for use in marine or brackish water aquariums.

Use a Recommended depth of 1.18" to 1.57" of Fluval Shrimp Stratum.

Fluval Shrimp Stratum is the ideal substrate for shrimp and planted aquariums, featuring a light non-compacting porous structure. Its ideal properties as an aquarium substrate are highly beneficial to nitrifying bacteria, which rapidly colonize the vast porous surface, providing optimal water quality for shrimp.

This ideal bottom substrate will provide newborn shrimp with the ideal refuge, allowing them to escape predation until they are large enough to emerge. Plants flourish as their roots easily spread and take advantage of available nutrients. The use of plant fertilizer tabs will ensure a full complement of essential macro and micronutrients.

The inherent properties of Fluval Shrimp Stratum will help support a neutral to slightly acidic pH, ideal for most shrimp and plant species. This highly attractive substrate will not discolor water and helps to control organic discoloration usually present when natural driftwood is used.
