Best I've found
I tried two other brands before using this. I'm not sure how excited about a base media, but this is more the size I was looking for. It's smaller and more densely pack. It also seems to hold better, but it's is more susceptible to being moved by water flow. Once I had some moss and drift wood in it wasn't an issue.

The best Shrimp gravel you can get.
Well it isn't gravel. It is a small ball that is made of clay and ground peat. It is light and you can crush it easy. It is durable enough for the tank.
The water quality is great using this and the other items that are sold to go with it. It is black (dark grey) and will require it to be rinsed before adding it to your tank. Lots of dust!!! I had problems with a tank that kept having KH and pH issues. The other gravel I had leached lots of minerals. I switched to this substrate and no problems since!! This Substrate is great. The shrimp are breeding!! Worth the money!!

This product is very dusty in the water.
The Fluval Ebi Shrimp Stratum is extremely dusty in the water, and it makes the water very cloudly. No matter how many time I washed it, the dust did seem to go away. I ended up throwing it away and replacing it with gravel. If I could give it a few more days, I think all the dust may have been settled down at the bottom, and the water could be clear. However, I didn't have the patience to wait. That could be a mistake on my part.
