Squirrel-Proof Tube Feeder 9" dia x 18-1/2" high
This feeder is a keeper.
We really like this style feeder for the smaller birds. Many caged feeders have trays on the bottom to collect spilled seeds. This only entices the squirrels to hang from the cage and eat from that tray. The lack of tray on this feeder is a real plus. We use mixed seed in it and all the smaller birds use it. The size is fairly small and the birds line up for a turn at heavy feeding times as it only has 4 ports. Would love to see a longer version with 6-8 ports. The top is also more squirrelproof than the previous model from this company. The old one let the squirrels lift the top and chew the plastic rim down, enabling them to reach in and get the seeds. Very satisfied with this improved model.

really works well
I've had a terrible time with squirrels eating from my other bird feeders, but this one really works well. It doesn't require a plastic dome baffle to keep them from getting to the seed and the birds love it.

Not Texas squirrel proof!
It took about a month before the squirrels have nearly ruined the feeder. They have managed to gnaw the plastic tube down about an inch and pulled apart one side of the lid. I'm thinking I may try to reinforce the top with PVC. I am excited as the feeder attracted a Painted Bunting - the first one I have seen in my yard. So that in itself deserves at least 3 stars.

It's only Squirrel Resistant
The squirrels cannot get in thru the cage but they can eat the gasket that holds the top on then pull the top off and reach down inside the plastic tube to eat the seed. If this had a screw on top it would probably keep the squirrels out. Now I have to figure out a way to keep the top on, because they also eat the plastic tube away so the top won't stay on. The squirrels are just too smart for us!!
