Caution: to provide continued protection against electrical shock.
- Have a qualified electrician install a properly grounded outlet, acceptable for outdoor use and protected from snow and rain immediately adjacent to the location where the heater will be used.
- Route supply cord and locate the heater so as to be protected from damage from people or animals.
- Inspect cord before using. If the cord is damaged, do not use and discard product immediately.
- Unplug heater at receptacle when not in use after the winter season.
- Store dry indoors after winter season.
To use your K&H Hose Heater:
Your new K&H hose heater will adapt to fit over most hose hangers. It is not meant to fit over a hose reel.
Always unhook your water hose from the water source when not in immediate use. Failure to do so will cause freezing of the exposed length of hose and water source.
- If you have an existing hose hanger, remove the hose entirely from the hose hanger.
- Open the zipper on the hose heater.
- Peel the back flap utilizing the hook and loop fastener down.
- Place the Hose Heater over your hose hanger.
- Place flap back up to a snug fit under the hose hanger making sure to press the hook and loop fastener.
- With the zipper still open and the front flap of the Hose Heater hanging down, feed female end of hose through the hole in the bottom of the Hose Heater. (This is the same hole shared with the power cord.) Only feed enough hose through to comfortably attach to your water source.
- Coil your hose back onto the hose hanger. The tighter you coil the hose, the better. This will keep the hose away from the outside edge of the hose heater therefore providing even better de-icing power.
- Zip the front of the Hose Heater.
- Plug it in.
To use your new K&H Hose Heater without a Hose Hanger:
The strap on the back of the Hose Heater makes the K&H Hose Heater usable on a hook, a fence post or nearly anywhere imaginable. Simply place the strap over the hook or post and follow the previous instructions.
Optimizing the de-icing power of the K&H Hose Heater:
In conditions that are well below zero Fahrenheit, coiling the hose tighter so the hose doesn't contact the outside edge of the Hose Heater will greatly increase the efficiency.
It's Smart:
Incorporating 3 thermostats, the K&H Hose heater will not only regulate to the optimal temperature, but will turn off automatically on warmer days should the temperature climb above freezing. It will then turn on when the temperature drops.
It's Efficient:
Using only 70 watts, your K&H Hose Heater will use less energy than a typical light bulb since it only draws power when the thermostats allow it to operate.
It's Tough:
Using heavy duty nylon, a long lasting super strong zipper, and incorporating UV protection, it's poised for hassle free use around any home, farm, ranch or job site.
Caution:
Always unhook your garden hose from the water supply making sure to drain the exposed length of hose that is coming from the Hose Heater. The Hose Heater will not protect the exposed length of hose, nor will it protect your water source or water spigot.
Failure to unhook the hose from the water source can cause freezing and damage to the water source. |
