Not for beginners.
This is a very nice aquarium to display and it fits in a small area. Easy to set up. Main challenge is getting the water regulated. It is very sensitive to changes and took a good while to get it clear and stabilized. You need to monitor the ammonia levels and the PH on a fairly regular basis. Displays fish nicely and is a good setup for guppies. I want to get the other type of light that is available and see what difference it makes in the display. I think about 6 fish is the maximum for this size setup.

Attractive small tank
I have been running this tank for about 6 months. The tank is located in the corner of my kitchen, which makes it a very nice showpiece. The good: very attractive, half moon look that looks good in the corner of the counter. "Panoramic" type view that allows you good visibility around objects to view fish. The light is adequate for low light plants (it is a compact fluorescent) and having the filter and lighting integrated into the hood makes it looks sleek. Holes available for a heater and airstone. The not so good: I put in my own biomedia, charcoal, and cut up some filter pads to decrease maintenance costs. The mechanical filtration is done entirely by a spray rod over filter media - not really the best way to filter but ok if you have freshwater animals only. The light intensity is good for viewing your fish but not strong enough to grow anything outside of java fern and moss. Because the filtration is not very powerful, the tank will get dirty sooner if you stock it with a lot of fish. The small bag of Purigen fits in the filtration tray so at least you can take out any colored substances that leach of out driftwood. Need to clean that spray bar often if you have any floating objects in the tank that can get sucked up into the spray bar, otherwise the spray holes will be occluded resulting in even lower filtering power. Overall, I have been happy with the tank so far as long as I keep it a low-tech tank and don't overstock.

I do not believe the filter system is adequate
This is a beautiful aquarium. Looks great. I bought two. Both are having problems with the ammonia spikes. I now believe that it is the filter system.
