Ocean Nutrition Cichlid Vegi Formula Flakes and Pellets 5.5 oz Flakes
Great Cichlid Food
I use a mix of the small pellets and flakes to feed my 125 gallon Mbuna tank. My fish love em. They are all fat and sassy, brightly colored, and breeding like crazy. My synodontis cats like the pellets as well. Either the pellets or flakes make a great staple food.

I've tried many different flake foods over the years, and I always keep going back to this. I started buying this when I had an African Cichlid tank and they always ate it with vigor, however I always believed it was due to their being Cichlids, until one day I fed it to some of my other tropical fish. I can't quite explain why they love it but all my fish are crazy for it. Best part is it's gobbled up by all my omnivorous and vegetarian fish, while being completely ignored by my carnivores, which really makes it perfect for a diverse tank set up. If you haven't tried it yet please do, it's worth the chance, and has kept my fish healthy for many many years.

I have a tank full of yellow labs and full grown mollies (yes, they all get along beautifully!). While my fish will eat most foods, these little pellets cause a total feeding frenzy. The yellow labs have also developed an even brighter yellow color, with more intense black markings. I have to say that while I was a long-term fan of Hikari cichlid pellets, I believe my fish do even better with Ocean Nutrtion pellets.

I like them, the fish seems to say "Just ok"
I purchased the pellets as the flakes were out of stock and I wanted to make sure I had some "cichlid" food for my new fish. I have been feeding them Tetra Min Pro tropical crisps, which they like, but they are a little big and a little hard for them. It is funny watching them carry the crisps around eating off at the edges. But I digress...
Back to the pellets, the fish like them, but they don't go after them as fast as the crisps and the pellets fall to the bottom rather quickly. I need to make each feeding 3 or 4 drops instead of just one or two. Maybe when the fish get bigger, or more hungry, they can get more before they fall.
I still like having the pellets, as I want to use them in the automatic feeder instead of flakes. I'll buy the flakes when they are back in stock to complement these.
I also like that the pellets are in a foil bag inside the plastic tub to keep them fresh.
