Simplify seasonal koi nutrition with the innovative Fish Feedometer. Floating sensor features a LED indicator that flashes green or red depending on pond water temperature. Red flash indicates water temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit and therefore not safe to feed your pond fish. When pond water temperature is at or above 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the unit flashes green signaling it's safe to feed again. Bright LED indicator can be seen up to 100 feet away, allowing you to monitor pond water temperature from the comfort of your home. Ideal for use during the spring and fall season to determine when to begin or stop feeding pond fish. Tie-down lanyard included. The Fish Feedometer measures 5-1/2" diameter x 5" high. As coldblooded animal, koi and other pond fish rely on pond water temperature to regulate metabolic processes including digestion and disease resistance. When pond water temperatures start to dip below 70°F, begin mixing their diet with an easier-to-digest, wheat germ formula. At below 60°F, switch completely to a wheat germ koi food formula. These foods offer high nutrition, are fortified with vitamins and minerals to help boost the immune system, and help reduce fish waste.

At 55°F koi metabolism decreases notably along with food intake requirements. However, a wheat germ diet can be safely offered throughout the winter as long as pond water temperatures do not drop below 50°F.
