Installing your Summit Pressure Gate
BEFORE removing the CARDBOARD COVER and cutting the
PLASTIC TIE, ENSURE the gate is securely in place or serious
injury may result due to pressure release.
Measure and record the width of the opening where you will use
the gate.
If the opening width is 34 11/32" - 39 1/2" (87 - 99 cm), install the
extension on the gate frame. Make sure the plastic caps on the extension and the gate touch each other. The plastic caps MUST touch each other to securely install the extension.
Note: Extension can be installed on either side of gate.
Push four adjustment bumpers onto the corners of the gate frame or the gate extension.
Position gate on floor in center of opening, making sure that it is straight up and down (90º to the floor).
Note: Rubber contact pads may mark some mounting surfaces.
Turn both upper adjustment bumpers and both lower adjustment bumpers as shown, until all four contact the door frame. Check that the gate is still straight up and down then turn each
bumper two more full rotations or until tight.
Test to make sure the gate frame assembly is secure by firmly shaking it. If it moves, it needs to be re-installed. Repeat steps 5 - 6.
With your gate securely in place, remove the cardboard cover then cut and discard the plastic tie.
Adjust both upper bumpers until the latch lines up with the line on the plunger.
Note: When the bumpers have been adjusted properly, there will be a 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) gap between the handle and the latch.
Inspect the gate door. Make sure it swings freely and latches securely. If it doesn't swing freely and latch securely, readjust it until it does.
