Water Colors Aquarium Backgrounds 25" x 25" Color: Black
Professional looking background, installed on an established tank
I have had my tank established for 3 months, without a background. I enjoyed it, although you'll see anywhere online that it is recommended to have a background to your tank. Solid blue or black is recommended.
Since my tank is established, I took out 60% of my water (a gallon of water weighs almost 8.5 pounds), disconnected all of my filter tubes, and slid my tank out perpendicular to the wall using furniture sliders. Very easy to do with 2 people.
Take your time putting this on, get your tank clean and then very wet. There's a video posted on the manufacturers website too.
Take a look for yourself, before and after shots (black eco-complete substrate and real plants is coming next).
Now that it's installed, the background will take some time to grow on me, but it again looks really nice, very professional. Highly recommended.

Excellent background. Don't be afraid of getting it too wet when installing.
I purchased this product after being fed up with the bubbling over time that I've experienced with typical backgrounds and gel adhesives. If you've ever installed a good screen protector on a smart phone, you'll find the process with this very similar. I've had it installed for over a month now and not a single bubble.
If I could offer a few tips:
- When you measure and cut the film, leave a slight lip on both sides. I found it much easier to cut the final edge straight after it was on the tank (assuming there isn't a silicone joint where you will be cutting)
- Don't be afraid of overwetting the adhesive side. The wetter the better- you will squeegee all of that water out later anyways.
- As much as I prefer to do things on my own, the job will be ten times easier with a second person to help you place the film on the tank.
I've seen some reviews stating that the only way to do this properly is with the tank face down on a floor. I did my 44g corner tank while still on the stand and partly filled with water and the results were flawless. I'd say the whole process didn't take much more than 30 mins.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. It has completely lived up to my expectations and is still completely bubble free. Just don't try to cut corners with the install and you should have equally as positive results.

Awesome background. I applied it to my tank while empty, I laid it on a table and it was really easy and looks amazing. I couldn't imagine trying to apply in an aquarium filled with water. Highly recommended but only if your aquarium is empty.

Nice and easy
I am a pure amateur at this and so was a little apprehensive when I got the kit. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Just make sure you have enough room to cut out the size background you need and don't over wet the tank before applying. (You have to squegee all the excess water out from underneath between the glass and the background). And allow yourself plenty of time...don't be in a rush when you do this! The finished product looks great however and I am very glad I pursued this instead of taping up a background.
