Heat Emitter 50 Watt
Fabulous for a parrot!
I don't like to heat our house for our U2 because I'm uncomfortable and I prefer it cooler. I was looking for a heating option for my Umbrella Cockatoo and it was between this and the cage heater. I opted for this and GLAD I did!!! It's fabulous!
My too is VERY picky at night if there is ANY light, so the fact this omits no light is fantastic! It's a nice warm heat, not too hot though. We have it on the outside of the cage of course, pointed at her favorite perch. She was skeptical at first, but now every morning she is cuddling next to the cage wall just happy as a clam. She LOVES it!!!!
Happy Cockatoo, Happy home!!!!

Love This Emitter!
I use this bulb to heat my 6' x 6' x 8' chicken coop in the winter. I suspend it above the perches they sleep on at night and the girls are kept nice and cozy. It keeps the whole interior above freezing. Only used one bulb all winter, though I keep an extra on hand. I love that it puts out warmth but no light, perfect for baby chicks, as too much light can be stressful for them.

I use this along, with a heat mat in my uninsulated tortoise house. I have this unit plugged into a thermostat. It does a great job of keeping my tortoises toasty on cool Texas nights. Not sure how low the temps can go with this set up yet, but for now I'm very pleased withe performance. I tried infrared heat lamps but they were way too bright.

Nice ceramic heater for small spaces
This ceramic heater works well for heating small spaces without using a heat lamp. I use it in a 20 gallon terrarium to heat the water dish for a young tortoise. It heats a portion of the space and is best for providing heat to specific areas, such as basking spots.
