| Quick Installation Guide
STEP 1
What you Need:
- Shovel
- Level
- Knife
- Galvanized/stainless steel screws
- Power drill
- Trowel
- Pump
- Pebbles of varied size
- Hose & fitting
- Sand for base of pond
STEP 2
Mark, on the ground, the pond area to be dug out. Remember to allow space behind for the waterfall support and around for planting. When digging the hole, make sure the base is leveled and cover the base with river sand to add support to the pond. A trowel can be used to level this area.
STEP 3
Place the pre-formed pond in the hole. NOTE: Do not step into pond as this may cause damage to your pond. Maneuver until the pond appears level. This may be checked by either using a level or by using a small amount of water in the base so that the level may be determined by eye.
STEP 4
Using the soil that was removed from digging your hole, backfill around all pond sides, pushing it underneath the pond edges for extra support. This will prevent the hole from moving.
STEP 5
When the pond is level and the backfill sufficiently packed, fill the pond with water.
STEP 6
Attach tubing to water outlet on Universal Rock. If a shut-off valve is required, add it to an accessible section of the tubing for easy control of water flow. Then attach the other end of the tubing to a properly sized submersible pump.
STEP 7
Submerge pump into pond at the rear side. Make sure tubing and electrical cord runs up behind the waterfall.
STEP 8
Position waterfall into desired place on your pond, making sure there is sufficient overhang. You may need to use a knife to slowly cut into waterfall sides to enable it to sit snug on the pond edge.
STEP 9
Depending on your choice of waterfall, support may be needed at the rear. Check that the waterfall is positioned correctly so that water cannot escape. A treated pine post can be used with rapid set concrete to secure.
STEP 10
When satisfied with the waterfall's position, secure the waterfall to the pond and treated pine post support using galvanized or stainless steel screws.
STEP 11
Connect your pump. Turn your water feature on and position a large river pebble over the water outlet at the top to disperse water evenly. Some water feature may come with a water control valve. This may need a slight adjustment to achieve the suitable water flow for your particular application. Smaller pebbles may be used to decorate and direct water flow.
STEP 12
Chose your planting theme/scheme. For example: formal, tropical, native, etc. Make sure that the tallest plants are positioned in the rear and the smallest plants in the front. To assist in creating your theme, use tree logs, lanterns, bamboo screens, etc to achieve your design.
General Information
Universal Rocks™ has proven itself to be a market leader in the production of Artificial Rock made from polyurethane and polyurea. These materials allow Universal Rocks to be cut easily with a sharp knife for installing in just about any situation. All Universal Rocks™ products are individually hand-made and colored making each item slightly unique.
Universal Rocks are virtually indistinguishable from authentic, heavy bush rock and have been hand modified to ensure maximum water flow. They are durable and will age, as nature intended, however, they will not corrode as porous cement or bush rock will, resulting in leakage.
SO LIGHT - With this lightweight technology, the units may be easily transported, placed and moved into the determined position. Access is also not an issue as they can be carried through a house or even over a fence. All water features may also be relocated at a later date if required.
SO EASY - Universal Rocks include an Easy Step-by-Step DVD, demonstrating the easy installation process of attaching the waterfall and edge rocks to the coping of the pool and also the connection to the pump. - All this in hours! |
