Control outdoor nuisance barking - even your neighbor's dog. Triggered by the sound of a bark the unit emits an ultrasonic tone to interrupt any dog's barking within the designated area. Effective up to 50 ft. Durable hard plastic weatherproof device includes coated steel wire for hanging or back slot for mounting. Includes 4 settings with 3 sensitivity levels and a test mode. Requires one 9V battery (not included). Measures 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 7- 3/4" high.

How the PetSafe® Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit Works When the Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit is within range of a barking dog, an internal microphone picks up the sound and the unit is automatically activated. The PetSafe Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit emits an ultrasonic sound. The ultrasonic sound can be heard by dogs but is silent to humans. Startled by the high-pitched sound that is safe and effective, the dog should stop barking, as he will associate his bark with this unpleasant noise. When the dog stops barking the ultrasonic sound also stops. The PetSafe Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit has 3 sensitivity levels to choose from that indicate what barking level activates the unit and a test mode. It is effective up to 50 feet. Note: If the dog is deaf or hearing impaired, he may not react to the Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit.
Caution: Humans cannot hear the ultrasonic sound; however, precautions should be taken when preparing the Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit for use.
Installation and Setup To Insert and Remove the Battery
Average battery life is 2 months, depending on how often the dog barks. To conserve battery life, turn to the "OFF" position when the Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit is not in use.
Two Color LED Modes of Operation
Place the PetSafe Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit within range of the dog with the unit switched to Low, Medium or High Sensitivity. Most dogs will understand very quickly that the Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit is disrupting their urge to bark and will relax and stop barking. You should notice a reduction in the dog's barking within the first two weeks that the Birdhouse UltraSonic Unit is in use. Please note this product may not work on deaf or hearing impaired dogs. Excessive barking can cause a real strain on your relationship with your pet, as well as cause disruptions in your neighborhood. There are some situations this product may not be as effective. I have three dogs right now. One is mine and the other two I am dog-sitting. The two that I am dog-sitting have been barking incessantly every night for the couple of weeks. They're inside dogs, but they're kept outside at my house. I (and my neighbors) am going crazy. I set this up, and the two smaller dogs ran to opposite ends of the yard during the test. The bigger dog barked a few times(he's deaf so doesn't hear the tone), and scared the little dogs away again. That night, the dogs got ready to start the nightly "concert." I would recommend these very, very highly. They are a true lifesaver!!! I have 4 dogs - 3 of which are outside dogs. - 1 is older so doesn't stay out much I personally didn't think they barked more than normal but I have one older neighbor that didn't want any noise out of them at all and he complained quite regularly to the police department and animal control. I could keep them quiet when I was home but when I was at work or out of town is when it became a real problem and I was afraid that he was going to file suit against me and that the court might rule that I would have to get rid of them. As I consider my dogs to be part of my family - I've just been devastated since this last complaint - wondering what I could do. I knew I couldn't use bark collars on them because they chew them off of each other! So I took a chance and I ordered 4 of these in hopes that this would maybe help alleviate the situation. This product works really well... for about 2 or 3 months, then more stubborn dogs either get used to the tone or realize they can just bark over it. I live in a tourist community and the rental house next door allows weekly renters to have pets. I will continue to use the product to keep the visiting dogs from barking, but it is not a long term solution for my dog. |

We moved to the country almost two years ago and our one yr old Boxer starting barking outside at everything that moves (deer, rabbits, other people, us, etc.) We have an invisiable fence for him so he has almost an acre to roam and that made it even more difficult to curb the barking. I received my PetSafe Birdhouse on Sat., today is Monday and I cannot believe the success we have had already. Two barks by the Birdhouse and not a peep since. We may have to order another one for the other side of the house since the area is so big but we will try to move the Birdhouse after a few days and see if that works. What a great product! |

We have two Westies and just moved from a large property to a small (very busy) neighborhood. One Westie is deaf so he is quiet but the other one is not use to all the activity and barks continually at EVERYTHING. We couldn't stand it and were worried about the neighbors complaining. This is the BEST product I have ever purchased, bar none. I have 4 dogs and moved from my 1/2 acre lot with no neighbors to a lot in the city. I ordered this because our neighbors have 3 large dogs that bark constantly. Hubby is a deputy sheriff and just went onto night shift, so he sleeps during the day. Recently my Westie, Harlow, and I had to downsize from a house to an apartment. If anyone knows terriers, then you know that they are very vocal! Before the move, Harlow had a big backyard with hardly any "foot traffic" around it. Now that she has people in her sight most of the time, she has started barking all the time. My neighbor's dog was literally barking all night. After three weeks of this, I walked over and very politely asked her to please control her dog, and short story she said she could not, but I was welcome to try. I walked back into my house and called my son,(who is a city police officer) to ask him if there was other recourse. We live next door to a woman that thinks her dog is an alarm system. Unfortunately, this little dog has trained his master, barking at birds, squirrels, tree branches swaying in breeze, virtually anything and everything. We could not do anything in our yard without this dog barking. Asking her to control her dog was of NO effect. We made a report to the police, they gave her a warning ticket, and so now after 15 minutes or so she puts the dog in for a few minutes, but then lets him right back out if there is no police car in front of her house in 15 to 20 minutes. We finally bought the Birdhouse Ultrasonic Bark Control Unit out of desperation. We found that the dog always wanted to get the last bark in and finally had to put it up to the maximum setting. Now, after usually not more than 10 to 12 barks, he will go to the other side of their property where he can hide behind obstacles and from the Ultrasonic sound. The up side is that now he is right below his master in her gazebo where she spends a lot of time. It usually only takes about 5 more minutes and she gets tired of hearing the dog barking and puts him in the house. Thanks for the Ultrasonic's "poetic justice". So while we didn't get all the relief we'd like, it has made a positive change in the quality of life in our neighborhood with a marked reduction in annoyance and unnecessary barking. |

We have neighbors who moved in and put their two Pit Bulls 12 feet from out bedroom patio door. They barked constantly when we would open the curtains or go outside in the yard.
