Pond Lighting Tips
- When using submersible lights, position them carefully so plant pots, pumps, hoses, and other items do not obscure your lighting.
- Maintain good water quality so algae or debris does not cover your lights.
- Connect lighting systems to a timer to automate pond lighting and minimize electrical use.
- Submersible lights can be simply placed on the bottom of the pond or positioned into the sides of the pond depending on the effect you want to achieve.
- Use a single light to spotlight a prominent water feature.
- Consider placing lights near aquatic plants to highlight them at night.
- Pond lighting has two effects - they illuminate as well as create shadows. Consider using lighting to create visually interesting shadows to add a new dimension to your pond.
- Lights placed near water fountains or areas of strong water movement reflect more light and create dynamic displays.
