Looks great and makes a good hiding place.
This artificial wood looks great and provides hiding places for my classroom bluegill. Mixed with plants and rocks, this makes a natural looking tank that demonstrates local fish habitat.

gorgeous replications AND functional
Beauty is a matter of taste, so this is only my take. I've been a hobbyist for many years and these tree/root emulations are , by far, the best I've ever used. They look awesome and serve as both breeding or staging ground for both my S.A and African Cichlids. Moreover, they provide cover and safety for babies as well as timid or newly introduced fish. I also like the fact that they provide a very natural look ( part of the beauty thing ), especially when they acquire a veneer of green algae which the Africans like to graze off of.

Natural look
Wanted a natural look aquarium so I bought the Large and Meduim Smooth bark Stump to use in my new Fluval Edge 12 gallon tank but ended up using only the Large Stump. Turned it on end for a tall look and tied 2 live Java ferns to it ,so far looks good. No fish in aquarium yet..
