Product not worth the money
We have had the Zilla set up for years. We have had nothing but problems from the beginning. 2 reasons we have not changed. 1. We cannot find a light bar that is an all in one that fits our set up.
2. Zilla replaces our parts as needed. They admit the timer in the light system is plastic and fails. They say they are fixing it. The special bulbs we have to purchase go our constantly. These are expensive and we can only get them online, we do not live near any pet stores.

Halogen Lights in Zilla fixture burn out quickly
I switched to a Zilla system that uses these halogen lights with their special bases. The bases limit your ability to get them from many suppliers. The halogen fixture provide nice, broad spray of heat. But they have a very short life. I have gone through an average of one bulb every two months (360 hours at 12 hours a day) for the past 9 months. Not a good track record compared to other heating lamps.

Constantly Replacing
These bulbs put out a lot of even heat, but they burn out very quickly. Drs. Foster and Smith have the best price by far. I've had the bulbs burn out, and in a pinch had to relplace them with bulbs from the local pet store. Only one store close to me sells them, and that store charges twice as much as this website. I've replaced these bulbs at least once every two months since I've switched to this Zilla brand. Unfortunately, I have a 36" bar that takes four and a smaller circular fixture that holds one for another terrarium. I would not recommend fixtures that use these bulbs.
