best feature is that the rock blends into the birdbath
So far the heated rock bird bath de-icer is working very well. We have had very cold below freezing weather and high Texas winds for quite a few days, and it has performed as expected and has been keeping the water in the bird bath from freezing. Even in an unprotected area on the North side of the house. It appears that it will be durable. Only time will tell. It should last with proper maintenance.

Works perfectly, no muss, no fuss!
I already had a bird bath so I chose this heated rock to put in it, instead of buying a more expensive new heated bath. My bath is actually used mostly for drinking by all the birds that winter here, ranging from tiny chickadees to big Clark's Nutcrackers and blue jays. I guess they don't want to bathe when it's 5 degrees, even though this heater keeps the water temperature about luke-warm to cool. We put this on our back deck, under a big pine tree near the seed feeder, and it's busy all day. It's great fun to watch the action and see them all sharing their watering hole. The unit is easy to unplug and clean, making it a snap to scrub the whole bath and refill it. We did install a GFI breaker for this outside electrical outlet, to prevent any accidents. I highly recommend this for every bird lover who lives in a cold climate - we are in the mountains at 6000 feet and this heater is on 24 / 7 and performs perfectly.

Winner
Birds are pleased that they have fresh water to drink.now that it is winter and freezing most other water sources. It works as promised. I just have to buy some algaecide to keep the algae bloom down from the heat of the water.
