1. Screw the handle into the dome unit with a gentle, turning motion. Do not apply excessive pressure, as this may damage the threads on the handle.
2. Lift the dome out of the base by using the handle.
3. Remove the poly-bag from the filter and set apart from the unit. Remove the cardboard insert from the base.
4. Completely wash the unit, including the base dome and pump (excluding filter) with a sponge and warm, soapy water. Do NOT use abrasive cleansers or materials on any part of the unit. Rinse thoroughly.
5. Rinse the poly-bag to remove excess carbon dust. Place poly-bag back in filter and place filter back into the unit.
6. Lift dome by handle and turn upside down. Open valve by pressing stem down and turning left or right 90 degrees until the stem remains depressed.
7. Place valve directly underneath faucet and fill to complete capacity.
8. Close valve by depressing and turning stem 90 degrees until spring releases and stem returns to its original position.
9. Turn dome right side up and position onto base using the bubbles inside the dome as a reference guide. Align the largest bubble with the elevated portion of the base. When properly placed, the water will begin to drain into the base.
10. Ensure water has drained into the base (under dome). Attach power cord to AC adapter and plug into wall socket.
11. Ensure that the protective plastic guard on cord is placed where the power cord emerges from the unit. This prevents the power cord from coming into contact with the dome. Secure excess power cord with tie wrap and place beneath unit to avoid pet chewing and entanglement.
