I can't imagine any more versatile bird cage than this one. The divider allows for either one very large or two separate cage areas. The food catcher at the bottom also acts as a cat barrier since they can't get close enough to startle the birds. The 5/8 inch bars are good for any size birds. Our birds (Australian parakeets) love the play top area and I love the large front doors for getting the birds in and out. This is the best designed and well built cage I have ever had! The only thing I would suggest is to include another food cup and cup holder for the 5th door for food or water.
This is a GREAT cage! Super roomy for our Cockatoo, Angel. She is having such fun moving between the two parts of the cage (I keep the center divider open about 8 inches). She has her sleep area on the left side and the rest is her playground. Angel entered the cage immediately, and started bobbing and dancing - so happy!. All of the mess from our old cage is gone! The liner sheets are brilliant - so easy to change. We are very pleased with our purchase!
Your bird's cage should be large enough for her to sit comfortably and move freely within it and spread her wings. The cage bars should be appropriately sized to prevent escape or injury.
