Master's Hoof Blend by VitaFlex 3-3/4 lbs (about 60 servings)
Excellent Product, Reasonable Price, Does the Job
Been using this product a long time. Originally named HT20 it was recommended to me years ago and I have used this same product on all my horses and recommend it to anyone that asks. Started with it back when I had TBs and all my friends had TBs. There was no other way to keep a shoe on any of our horses. TBs are TBs. Then, like a lot of people we all moved on to WBs but we all still use this same product. I was having particular issues with my upper level dressage horse long before he was an upper level horse. He has brilliant feet and when he was younger it was recommend he go barefoot. My trainer was a little dubious but the horse did well. But then he started jumping, and then he passed 2nd Level dressage, and then he started qualifying for State Championships and one thing led to another and shoes were recommended. And Lo & Behold, my lovely little WB could not keep a shoe on his foot! One month it was so bad I had a barge of different farriers replacing torn off shoes every two days. It was terrible and the horse eventually went sore & was out of work for a few weeks. I started him on Masters Hoof Blend and he has been on it ever since. This supplement will not make the hoof wall stronger, harder, brilliant, etc... what these supplements do is make the hoof grow faster, leaving the farrier more to work with. They do make the skin & coat healthier, and the hoof is no doubt a bit healthier because of all the added nutrients but what your horse is born with, your horse is born with. My horse has brilliant feet but he still can't keep a shoe on. I am lucky that when it gets bad I can just pull his shoes with the knowledge that he will not be lame, his feet will not break up and he can still go to State Championships. But if I want shoes on this horse, I need to help him and this product is excellent. I am sure everyone knows by now that biotin itself is not readily absorbed by horses, it needs a 'transport' system of other nutrients and chemicals to help the horses body absorb ir. Masters Hoof Blend seems to have that exact mix that works, my horse always eats it (it has a nice enticing horsey smell) and his shoes stay on. Can't get any better then that.
