Offer your thirsty pet fresher tasting water with this large capacity pet water fountain. Elegant design with high-impact plastic to hold over one gallon of water in minimal space. Features a 1/2 gallon reservoir and an ultra-quiet, submersible pump to continuously circulate water. Pre-filter traps larger debris while the three-layer charcoal filter removes smaller impurities. Water is returned to the large bowl via a gentle cascade from the 8-1/2" high elevated spout. Adjustable flow control valve regulates water circulation for water flow that is customizable to your pet's needs. Rubber feet grip almost any floor surface to prevent slips. Tips on use: When being introduced to the Drinkwell Platinum, your pet will probably have the good sense to be cautious of this new and unusual object. After beginning operation of the fountain, just let your pet adjust at his or her own pace. Some pets take several days or longer to begin use. Ice cubes can be added to the bowl for refreshing ice-cold running water.
Operation: Fill with water and plug unit in to begin continuous recirculation. Add water to the bowl as needed. Water first falls onto a ramp in the bowl, which reduces the noise and splash of falling water. Yet the flowing action still breaks the surface tension of the bowl water to draw in oxygen from the air and aerate the water. Aerated water tastes fresher. You can see it working by the tiny bubbles it creates.

I barely had the fountain filled when my 11-month kitten scampered over to have a drink. She just loves it! She rubbed my legs, rolled over and purred to thank me for her new water fountain. It's the 'Cat's Meow'!
My 2 cats ADORE their fountain. One of them even sticks her head under the spout and loves to put her paw underwater for the entire time she drinks. If your cats don't know what to think of it; give them time, they'll love it.
We upgraded from the basic Drinkwell and cannot be more pleased - the seamless intergration of the reservoir is fantastic. They made some great improvements on this model that make it easy to clean and keep up maintance. Ever since we had our first drinkwell our cats have loved it - they drink so much more water that I'm constantly refilling (a good thing!) The improvement of their water intake from a standing water bowl to the drinkwell has been amazing - it reassuring to know that something so simple can up your cats intake providing superior benfits of their urinary track. Drinkwell fountains are a step above the rest and they are worth every penny.
Well worth the money. I purchased 2 fountains, one on each floor. My 2 cats use them all the time. The flow design quiets the water as it falls. My cats have a less desire to call upon me to turn on the faucet when wanting a drink. Still standing water is not something they like. One of my cats dips her paw in the stream and will begin to clean and wipe her face.
My elderly kitty had taken to insisting on the tub faucet being turned on and would not drink out of her bowl. She's now drinking out of her bowl. So far it seems easy enough to care for and was easy to set up. I'm hoping it has the longevity and value for its cost!
