Hydor Koralia Water Circulation Pumps

Dynamic, fully submersible water pumps revitalize hard-to-access "dead spots" in your aquarium. To prevent noise and disturbance caused by vibration, avoid lateral contact with the aquarium glass or pointing the pump upwards at the bottom of the aquarium.

Installation

• Unwind the electric cable.
• Insert the pump assembly onto the mounting peg on the ball joint.
• Immerse the pump assembly completely underwater and turn it in a vertical position to release any air trapped in the Impeller Chamber.
• Secure the submersed pump assembly in the desired location via external Suction cup/Magnet mount.
• Rotate pump assembly to adjust the direction of the water flow.
• Connect unit to electrical supply.

Maintenance
Attention: Before any kind of intervention, ALWAYS disconnect electrical supply of the pump and any other appliance placed in the water.

Regular cleaning and maintenance will guarantee better and longer pump performance.

• While holding the pump assembly with one hand, carefully remove the external magnet with your other hand.
• Carefully disassemble pump assembly unit by removing Pump Cage and Impeller Assembly.
• Clean the Impeller Assembly by removing deposits with a soft brush, DO NOT use detergents or solvents.
• Reassemble pump, making sure the two notches on the Pump Chambers correspond properly. Also make sure the Impeller Shaft is placed correctly.
• In the event of abnormal noise or reduced performance caused by sudden change in electricity supply, it is sufficient to restart the pump to resume normal performance.

Safety Information

• The pump is intended for indoor use only, in fluid with a maximum temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Do not connect to electrical supply if the pump is not completely immersed in water.
• Do not connect to electrical supply if pump is missing parts.
• Do not connect to electrical supply if pump is not attached using the supplied suction cup + magnet support.
• The cord of this pump cannot be replaced or repaired; in case of damage, the entire unit must be replaced.
• Do not cut or pull the electrical cord.
• Always disconnect from electrical outlet by the plug and make sure hands are dry.
• When in use, make sure the pump surface is not blocked.
• When in use, make sure the pump does not take in sand, as this could seriously damage the unit.
• Due to the high attraction level between the magnets, keep out of the reach of children.
• Avoid attaching the magnets directly to one another.
• Make sure you hold the magnets by the sides and avoid placing hands or fingers between them.
• At a distance up to 5 cm, the magnets attract metal objects and other magnets with high force. To avoid injuries, avoid proximity to blades, sharp objects, or other magnets.
• The magnets can cause permanent damage to electrical devices or articles that are affected by a magnetic field (i.e. pacemakers, credit cards, or magnetic keys). Keep the magnets away from these objects at a minimum distance of 12 inches.
• When not in use, always place cardboard separator between magnets.
• If exposed to temperatures higher than 122 degrees Fahrenheit, the magnets can lose part or all their attracting power.
• Always clean the aquarium glass before placing the suction cups + magnet support. Any dirt on the surface might prevent the suction cups from attaching properly. The pump may slip and be damaged or cause damage.

Introduction
Koralia Magnum is a new innovative range of circulation pumps for aquariums. The combination suction cup + magnet can safely hold Koralia Magnum pumps in glass or acrylic aquariums from 1/2" to 13/16" thick.

Exclusive electronic system guarantees unidirectional startup with AHS function.

What is AHS?
AHS, or Anti-Heating System guarantees extra safety. This system automatically detects if the impeller is blocked (this could happen in particularly hard working conditions). After 3 startup attempts, the AHS function cuts the power supply to the pump to prevent the motor from overheating dangerously (thus heating the aquarium) or damaging the internal circuits.

Note: Should the AHS function activate, to restart the pump, simply unplug it from the electrical supply, check the cause of the impeller blockage and carry out appropriate maintenance and then plug in the Hydor Koralia Magnum.

Installed 2 in my 120 gal. reef tank. Excellent flow, fish and corals love it. Highly recommended. After you find the perfect mounting position, use a Sharpie felt pen to trace around the magnet from the outside - this makes it much easier to reposition the unit after cleaning it.

Excellent pump! I bought the #4 for my 105g and it really creates good water movement. It is a little noisy at startup with a wavemaker but still well worth the price. The combination large suction cup with magnets is an excellent feature, no more powerheads dangling by the power cord. The Koralia is without a doubt the best pump in it's price range.

I bought three #2's for my 90 gallon. Two of them are on one side of the tank and the other powerhead is on the opposite side of the tank. They work great. The current is not too strong, but keeps good circulation. Having the three on a wavemaker adds to the good water flow. I would definitely recommend.

Bought two #1's for my 38 gallon reef tank. WOW, what a difference. Was using 2 Power Sweep 212's and there's just no comparison. Wish I would have known about these pumps years ago. Don't even bother buying a regular powerhead, just buy one (or more) of these and know that you made one of the smartest decisions possible for your tank. Would also like to note: These pumps are so quiet you'll have a hard time knowing whether or not they are running (until you look inside the tank and see the AWESOME water movement).

I have two #4s, a #3, and I am ordering a #1 now for my 90 gallon display tank. They are awesome I was reluctant to even buy the #4s because I thought I may have too much flow, deinitely not, it is just nice and gentle. I have used the #3 and am going to use the #1 just to stir up a couple remaining dead spots. I def recommend them, they really throw a broad circulation.

I added one Koralia Mag 8 on the left end of my five foot 120 reef tank. The Mag 8 is fantastic. My fish love to swim against the current. The corals and anemones are happy campers as well. I purchased two Koralia 4's for my 90 gallon reef tank. Boasting a total of 2,400 GPH extra in my reef has earned an A+ in my book. I plan to add a couple #1's or #2's in the back side of the tank to create a great clash in water movement. My corals have never looked better.

I just bought a Koralia #2 for my 30 gal tall reef tank and it is EXCELLENT! I now have great water movement in my whole tank. Unlike any other pump I have had, there is no strong current. The current is defused over a wide area and the current is very gentle. Also, since I took out my old powerhead and put this pump in, my water temperature has dropped 3 degrees. I will never go back to a powerhead again.

Hi, I have the Pump 4 on my 150g freshwater tank and man does this pump really move the water. A little bulky but well worth it. Well constructed. I would recommend this product if you are looking for some serious movement in your water.

I got two #5's for my 100gal and love them. The 110 gal tank size listed is the max recomended size. I'm thinking about getting two more #5's and putting them on a timer to change the direction of water circulation.
